It's been on my own to-do list for years, but other things always seem to crop up. I don't appear to have the edit I saw, I rarely download them if I plan to make my own. It is in the database. Cumber (Donald Pleasance). Both are bound tightly and convincingly by their wrists and ankles with leather thongs. The pair are bumped along the road in the back of a wagon, while the soldier tries to undo her bonds with his teeth, but the brevity of her buckskin dress distracts him. Fairly long shots, including his efforts to cover her naked buttocks and thighs (he's unduly reserved!). Later they are deposited under a tree, still bound hand and foot. Later, Honus manages to untie her wrists, whereupon she bolts -- leaving him still fettered. When Cresta pulls the ropes from her legs there are some obvious rope marks left, an unusual feature in a mainstream scene. No gags. |

Both are cleave gagged with thin strips of cloth (Potter's is black, Vega's is white) and shown struggling with their restraints: Potter's hands are tied behind, Vega's in front. When they are first shown like this, it is a lengthy sequence in which both are screaming and mmpphhing in terror as their captor listens to Vega's heartbeat through a stethoscope. When he leaves them alone in the room, Potter quickly manages to work the gag out of her mouth, then her bonds, but has to re-gag herself and Vega when the villain returns. The sequences are fairly lengthy, including lingering closeups of faces and hands (including blink and miss ones). Smith's scene is at minute 24, while the Potter/Vega scenes are at 39 (just over a minute), 70 (no gags or visible bondage in this one), 80 (five minutes, with several cutaways), and 96 (quick flashback shots only). Additional quick shot: at 38mins (61mins in the director's cut edition), a polaroid is shown of Potter and Vega in a prequel to their situation. They are both looking up at the camera with the gags in their mouths, but not bound. |

There is a third scene (very short) where she is trying to escape, and runs out her wrists are manacled in front, but instead of a chain, a spreader bar (about 2 feet long) is used. The final one has her being led by a rope around her neck. Her wrists are manacled in front as in the above scene. Her torso is wrapped with what looks like half a mile of rope. She sports a nice white cleave gag. Lots of emotion coming from her as she tries to escape, but she doesn't have much luck. Wearing a old red dress like they apparently wore back then. In the Deleted scenes on the DVD, there is a scene, called "The Fat Soldier", with Lena tied to a fence, or railing, in a barn & cleave gagged. It's actually a much better scene than the "main" one. Several nice close-ups. She convinces a...well, fat soldier to remove her gag & finally untie her. Afterward, she gets the drop on him. |

When he enters an apartment where no lights are working, he trips over a phone cord. Lying nearby on the floor is Julia, unconscious at first but wakes up groggily as Sam falls in front of her. We first see that she is very tightly cleave gagged with a thin white cloth, and has a bloody nose from having been knocked out. A slow panning shot soon reveals that she is also loosely hogtied with rope, but the length of rope between her hands and feet is much too long to be effective. Just the one mmpphh from her as the real culprit steps out of the darkness: psycho redhead Monica (Eva Renzi), who lures a bewildered Sam out of the apartment to chase her. All the while he completely ignores Julia, who is later freed offscreen. Occurs at 1hr 27-29mins of the Blu-ray release. Lighting is very dark, and almost all shots of Julia are close-ups of the blink-and-you-miss it variety; the full-body view of her hogtied lasts a few more seconds. She wears a cream-coloured jacket and brown boots. |

Gershon is shown in three brief precursor scenes, lying on the floor of a closet, hands tied behind her back with plenty of white rope, feet also tied together, and she is tightly cleave gagged with a thick knotted white cloth. The first is during the film's opening credits, the second about 40' in (one brief closeup of her face), and the third at the beginning of the main bondage sequence about 20' from the end. She wears a tank top, pants and boots. Tilly wears a red dress and heels. When Tilly's husband figures out their scheme, he knocks both unconscious in respective struggles and ties each with their ankles together and their hands behind their backs. He lays Gershon on the floor before him, and places Tilly in a chair. When he leaves the room for a moment, Tilly slides onto the floor to try and help Gershon, but before she can, he returns with a pair of tin snips, gags Tilly onscreen in the same way as Gershon was earlier, and threatens to cut off her fingers one at a time unless Gershon tells him where the money is. Lots of mmpphhing from Tilly. Then his door buzzer sounds, and, after again knocking Gershon out, he carries her -- now also gagged as before -- into the closet, then lifts Tilly over his shoulder to carry her into the bathroom, where he lays her on the floor with her back propped up against a wall. After he convinces her to help him hide the situation from the mob enforcers on their way up to the apartment, there is a shot of Tilly untying her ankles. Once the gangsters leave, Tilly runs for it, and while her husband chases her, Gershon manages to open the closet doors and writhe over to where he left the tin snips, which she uses to escape. |
