| The scene was kinda disappointing. Lyndon Smith, gets a pretty brief wrapgag by the lead male (without any other tie), which turned out that it was in her dreams. Later, during the end of the movie, Jenna Dewan gets wrapgagged without any other tie as well, by Lyndon Smith, who turned out to be obsessed with her all along. I've made an edit, just for the sake of it. She said later in an interview that it was a very ineffective gag that didn't really inhibit her ability to talk. On top of this, it is a very ridiculous-looking gag. Later in the movie, a beautiful brunette is discovered bound and gagged in the cab of the villainous trucker; her gag is a bandana tied between her teeth. Why couldn't the villain have gagged Sobieski in this manner? |

If the script specifies the type of gag, that's what the prop master will use (like if the script says "taped her mouth", obviously they'll choose tape). If the script simply says something vague like "bound and gagged" without additional detail, the prop master has creative latitude. Having seen scripts, most of them seem to be fairly vague on the details of the DiD scene (not surprisingly, scripts usually aren't overly detailed on scene specifics of any kind). Some prop folks are a lot more creative than others - one attention to detail I always appreciate is when they make some effort to make the gag look improvised if the capture itself is improvised in the context of the script (for example, using a nearby rag or torn sheet rather than a pristine white cloth). One of the most creative examples of this I've seen - but infuriatingly on a putz - was a ripped piece of towel stuffed and secured with an insanely tight ziptie (which was obviously improvised in the scene). Would have been a top ten scene IMHO if it was a damsel instead, but I don't know of any similar scenes with a DiD. |

There wasn't anything odd about the gags in this movie, the main players worked for a shipping outlet and they were all handing the plastic wrap used to secure pallets of packages so made sense the bad guy, or in this case bad lady, at least in the finale, used the wrap for a gag. |
