They had a data center in VA which is where the indictment was handed down. The company is Hong Kong based and has servers around the world. The people arrested are all non-US citizens. The site boasted 150 million registered users and about 50 million hits daily. That could account for the "file not available now" messages people were getting.
Think Sam has a good idea, lay low for a bit until this SOPA thing sorts itself out.

Megaupload
Damn that sucks Sam, it must be pretty frustrating for you to see all your hard work and effort wiped clean. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say a huge thanks for all your efforts over the last few years and hopefully you'll keep contributing in the future

Megaupload
Hi Sam, huge thanks for your contribution.
Hopefully you can upload your last clip "Good Morning Killer" on another site than megaupload. I think only a few people have it.

Anyway, thanks for your effort!

Sam, the controversial law has not passed yet so I doubt they are permanently down or wiped clean. I would give it a few days first.

maybe you can use megashares or uploaded.com. They allow download of big files and captchas are not nasty.

Sam, I'm all for the simple, and we were all idiot newbies at some point, but Good Lord, if someone's so dense they can't figure out HJSplit, (Which is beyond easy to use) then maybe they don't deserve the awesome free stuff you provide.

I've used it on my blog for some stuff and never had an issue with anyone not able to figure it out.

All that said, I also think MegaUpload might well return soon enough.

Clip about robbery
Dutch reconstruction about a robbery, the thieves use chloroform in this one (twice). Little warning, clip is a bit violent.

Megashares! lmao. I forgot to say, Megashares is the 3rd worst filehost behind Netload and Filesonic. Their download limit is 500MB per........ 4 hours I think! Right now I'm grabbing a 2GB file from Megashares, and it's still taking more than 12 hours to complete.

I'd never subject anyone to that.

RAR big HD files for Mediafire
If their too big you could always split them into multiple parts using winrar. That way you can split the file without splitting the video.

"Farkli Desenler" Turkish TV series
By gad I wish i spoke Turkish, this is one of the funniest most engaging scenes i've seen I think i've ever seen with a beautiful endearing heroine.

Entire thing appears to be being played for laughs but I'm really not sure what is going on to be honest, if anyone can translate i would appreciate it

Re: Megaupload
To Sam :

I think there is a site called Multiupload where you can upload your video to a multiple hosting sites at the same time (Rapidshare , Mediafire , Fileserve ...etc ) and it lists all the links in one page at Multiupload and you click on your desired site to download from it

Take a look at that site

Edge of Night - Frances Fisher
The full episodes of the soap "The Edge of Night" from December 1979 featuring Frances Fisher bound and gagged have been uploaded on You Tube in really good quality.

In the first episode, she has her arms tied behind her back and is cleave-gagged with a white cloth in back of a car.

In the second episode, the kidnapper removes her gag and we see him remove a cloth that was stuffed in her mouth and Frances does some my-mouth-hurts-and-that-cloth-tasted-yucky acting. The kidnapper marches her into the woods with her hands tied behind her back, then ties her legs at the ankles on screen and stuffs the cloth back into her mouth, securing it with a white cloth and leaving her.

She gets herself free in the third episode.

I know this is a bit of a dumb point, but I find the whole DiD Clip business to be VERY educational. I'm aware of absolute hordes of actresses/actors and shows/films from eras well before my time because of my enthusiasm for collecting these things.

I'll often wow people with this otherworldly wisdom, and when they ask "how the hell do you know about that?" I sometimes struggle to come up with a lie. ;)

I don't speak the language, and thanks for very nice scene, but I think it was not played for laughs, just laughable bad writing and acting.

Re: Megaupload DOWN
A bit of light relief: an anchorman on BBC News, reporting on the Megaupload affair, intended to say the site was shut down, but instead said "the shite was sut..." He did apologise at the end of the piece for what he described as a "lisp". :-)

On a serious note, many who have used Megaupload to store perfectly legal photographs and files and clips of films and TV shows of which there are no other copies, fear that they may lose them completely. The US establishment has a cultural tiger by the tail. I see an awful, expensive mess to sort out, and possibly lawsuits if irreplaceable material is lost.

See I actually considered deleting some of the more "disposable" scenes from my collection, in the hope that they'd always be there on Megaupload in case I wanted to have a looksie (naivety of the highest order in this day & age, I know). Fortunately I thought better of it. They're all still tucked away, even the blink-and-you-miss-it scenes, which means the collection is exponentially growing..... and rapidly eating away at my hard drive. :-P

Criminal Minds - S07E11; 'True Genius' (featuring unknown)
OK, the build-up I included in yesterday's HQ (where the girl gets shot in the car) wasn't even of the same actress as the damsel! Duhhhhhhhh, the old skim-editing routine rearing itself again. To me they kinda looked the same coz of the low quality, but oh well. This time I included the correct girl, who now doesn't have a name, although her capture was never shown onscreen. After the conversation at the cafe table with her soon-to-be kidnapper, the next time she's seen is when her boyfriend opens the door to where she's being held. That's really all there was to it. So, most of the clip ends up being just shots of her with the gag hanging around her neck (her hands stay ziptied behind her the whole time). But since it's a knotted white cleave, and I'm all about DiD visuals, I'll take that over nothing. Plus, iTunes' superb video quality allows you to see the detail of the cloth (torn shirt?) I reckon it looks really cute on her:
