| Title: Scorcher (2002) Medium: Movie Actress: Rayne Marcus Description: Marcus plays "Faith Beckett", the daughter of an army colonel. In the midst of an evacuation of Los Angeles, she's knocked on the head and dragged off by a psycho. When we next see her she's standing in a warehouse with her hands tied above her head (to a pipe) with rope. The nutcase taunts her and tells her that he's going to burn her alive at sunrise. Shortly after that the city is rocked by an earthquake and the pipe breaks and she frees herself. Then the bad guy catches her and zaps her with a stun gun. Soon after she's seen sitting on the floor with her hands tied, in front, to a metal storage rack. She manages to reach a pager with her feet and pages her dad who comes to the rescue just as the bad guy is about to fry her with a blow torch. Her hands are bound with wire and in closeups it's obvious that she could easily pull her hands out. In the wide shots the wire appears to be a little tighter, not much though. No gag in either scene. |
