You see a videotaped image of Laura Linney's character, nude on her stomach on a kitchen floor. Her hands are handcuffed behind her and she's gagged with duct tape and suffocating from a plastic bag sealed over her head. Ends badly. Scene 2 occurs about 30 minutes later, approx. 95 minutes (1:35) into the movie. This is with Kate Winslet, playing a reporter, re-creating the death as part of her investigation. Kate's character is fully clothed. She tapes her mouth with duct tape, then ties a bag over her head and handcuffs herself. Her reporting partner is standing by to tear away the bag in a couple of minutes. Some good closeups of Kate's face. Kate starts struggling and mmmmmphing, and her buddy tears off the bag. Good closeup of her gagged face for a second or two after the bag comes off. Scene 3, which is less than 10 minutes later. We get to see Linney's character tape her own mouth and then put the bag on. Scene ends quickly from there. At the very end of the film is a sort-of Scene 4, in which you see slightly more of the videotape with the body of Linney's character still handcuffed, gagged and bagged. |

About an hour in Likens is shown being bound to a pole in Baniszewski's basement by ropes around her torso. A few minutes later she appears squatting at the base of the pole, her hands behind her as if they're tied around it. At the film's end half an hour later, Baniszewski is shown being led to her prison cell after her conviction, her hands manacled in front by cuffs with an unusual length of chain between them. |

The bondage comes in a hard scene in which Lisbeth Salander (Mara) is raped, she is shown handcuffed hands and foot while lying face down in a bed. She is gagged with a tight black cleave gag, she is stripped naked once she has been restrained and there are a couple of close ups of her gagged face while she is being raped. She will later have a painful vengeance on her attacker. |
