Record number: 17716 Title: Happy Face Killer (2014) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Stefanie von Pfetten; Karyn Mott Description: Docu-drama about serial killer Keith Hunter Jesperson opens with the FBI searching his house, and finding the body of Stefanie, still tape-gagged and tape bound, hidden in the basement. After this glimpse, the story unfolds of how he murdered his victims, and taunted the FBI. The movie doesn’t linger on the murders, but at 72 minutes in (including commercials), Karyn gets an imaginative death as victim “Becky Sue”. She is tied in a kneeling strappado under a truck trailer, and gagged with duct tape. The killer starts the truck and pulls out, presumably crushing her (not shown explicitly in the movie). At 100 minutes in, Keith comes home to his nagging fiancée (Stefanie). There is one very short glimpse of her gagged face on a tv screen before the reprise of the FBI finding her body in the basement. |
