Record number: 11880 Title: Doctor Who (1963) Medium: TV Series Actress: Elisabeth Sladen Description: Episode: "The Brain of Morbius" In Part 2, Sarah was blinded by a ray (she did not know it was only temporary, so it was effectively a non-removable blindfold) when she rescued Doctor Who (Tom Baker) from a Sisterhood who guarded the secret of their Elixer of Life by killing all visitors. They return to the castle of the evil Professor Solon in the hope that he may be able to help. He sends The Doctor back to the Sisterhood to get their Elixar as the only hope for regenerating her retinas that he said were destroyed. However he sends a message to them asking for The Doctor's head to complete the body he is building to resurrect Morbius (an exiled Time Lord and greatest criminal mind in the galaxy). While blindly making her way around Sarah enters the Laboratory and speaks to Morbius, unaware that she is holding a conversation with a brain being kept alive in a jar. Later she overhears what is planned for The Doctor and bravely made her way from the castle to try to warn him. Should appeal to 'invisible blindfold' fans. She was eventually found by the villain's slow-witted assistant (Eigor type character, who understandably developed a liking for her) then carried over his shoulder back to the castle. In Part 3, to prevent future escapes she is tied, hands in front, on a table or trolley in the lab with ropes holding her down. Later she is released in order to operate an air pump while the villain transplanted the Brain of Morbius into his composite monster using an artificial head as The Doctor had not been killed having restored the Sisterhood's Eternal Flame and source of their Elixar .Her sight returns soon after. Wearing trousers and quilted top with matching waistcoat, no gag. |

Record number: 8420 Title: The Life of David Gale (2003) Medium: Movie Actress: Kate Winslet, Laura Linney Description: Scene 1 occurs about 65 minutes (1:05) into the movie, lasts a couple of minutes. You see a videotaped image of Laura Linney's character, nude on her stomach on a kitchen floor. Her hands are handcuffed behind her and she's gagged with duct tape and suffocating from a plastic bag sealed over her head. Ends badly. Scene 2 occurs about 30 minutes later, approx. 95 minutes (1:35) into the movie. This is with Kate Winslet, playing a reporter, re-creating the death as part of her investigation. Kate's character is fully clothed. She tapes her mouth with duct tape, then ties a bag over her head and handcuffs herself. Her reporting partner is standing by to tear away the bag in a couple of minutes. Some good closeups of Kate's face. Kate starts struggling and mmmmmphing, and her buddy tears off the bag. Good closeup of her gagged face for a second or two after the bag comes off. Scene 3, which is less than 10 minutes later. We get to see Linney's character tape her own mouth and then put the bag on. Scene ends quickly from there. At the very end of the film is a sort-of Scene 4, in which you see slightly more of the videotape with the body of Linney's character still handcuffed, gagged and bagged. |
