Record number: 324 Title: The Avengers (1961) Medium: TV Series Actress: Diana Rigg Description: Episode: "The Bird Who Knew Too Much" (5.5) Emma is surprised by two thugs, and chloroformed (slumping nicely into her captor's clutches). She is dragged to a chair, and tied to it, hands in front. A large cloth gag is tied over her mouth (and about half her face), all while she's unconscious. A gun is rigged to shoot her if the door is opened to rescue her; the bad guy tying her props her head up against the back of the chair as he leaves. When she awakens, and realizes her danger, her struggling is unconvincing, since the bondage isn't terribly secure, but we do get to watch her plight for several minutes, until Steed comes through the window to rescue her. Not Dame Diana's most stringent role, but her casual manhandling by her captors is rather sexy. Wearing a blue cloth catsuit. Chloroformed at about 28 minutes then tied to the chair with thin white rope, the gag is black. Seen again at 30 minutes and rescued at 32 minutes (in a 50 minute broadcast slot without adverts). Faux gag fans may appreciate the "suitable for open-car motoring" outfit she chooses when she leaves at the end, with a white dust-mask covering her lower face, topped with a clear visor. |

Record number: 286 Title: Three Days Of The Condor (1975) Medium: Movie Actress: Faye Dunaway Description: Tied up for a while and briefly gagged, in the middle half of the movie, with several pairs of stockings. Versions of the film usually aired on British TV are the same, but the first cut I ever saw (also on TV) had a scene in which Redford started by saying, "I need your car." He proceeded to tie her up against her protestations, and just before he gagged her, she said, "This is not fair!" There were several almost-closeups of her face being gagged and struggling as Redford left. The order of scenes is also changed in subsequent versions; the original sequence made the narrative much clearer. |

Tied hands behind back, ankles together and blindfolded part of the time, with red cloth. No gag. She's left standing while gasoline is poured around her, then a candle left beside her. Later, Dennis Hopper saves her by carrying her over the shoulder from the burning cabin, while she's still bound and blindfolded. |

Record number: 169 Title: Big Trouble in Little China (1986) aka John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China Medium: Movie Actress: Suzee Pai, Kim Cattrall Description: Ms. Pai is shown tied down to a bed, hands tied AOH to the headboard, and cleave gagged with a thick pink/white terry cloth at around the 30' mark (no commercials). There are several nice close-ups. As she is about to be wisked away by the demon, we can see that Ms. Pai's shoes have been removed during her captivity. There is a close up of her bound stocking feet when the demon cuts the rope that ties them to the bottom of the bed. Around the 50' mark, Ms. Cattrall is shown in a cage laying on her stomach in a very strict hogtie. She is also tightly cleave gagged with a thin black cloth. Her hands are bound behind her back, and her ankles are tied together. A rope extends from her ankles over her left shoulder, around her neck, then back over her right shoulder and down to her bound hands, putting her in a hogtie. After she is rescued by Kurt Russell, she flees the warehouse with her gag still in place. No mention of Ms. Cattrall's hogtie or why she is the only one tied up in the audio commentary track While the others drive away from the warehouse, Gracie (Kim Cattrall) is again grabbed by Lo-Pan in beast-form, and gets placed with her wrists slapped in chains bolted to the floor. Note: On the Blu-ray and possible the dvd release, there is a deleted scene in the special features. One of the scenes shows a deleted scene of Ms. Pai. The footage is from old stock and some betamax footage. The camera plans up from Ms. Pai's feet to her head as the lady tells her sorry for the bruise on her face. |

Record number: 11792 Title: Secuestro express (2004/I) Medium: Movie Actress: Mia Maestro Description: This is a Venezuelan film dealing with the kidnaping of a well-to-do young couple in Caracas. Lovely Mia Maestro plays Carla who is taken at gun point and held hostage throughout the movie. She is harassed verbally and physically. At minute 38 she is blindfolded with a black cloth when they go to the apartment of a drug dealer. Subsequently at minute 55 she is led blindfolded with a red cloth into an empty room in a building. She is wearing a cocktail red dress with low back cut and red boots under her knees. The kidnapers seat her on the floor and remove her boots. In quick close ups we see how she is tied up with rubber straps. Her ankles are crossed and her wrists are placed behind her back. She remains bound for the next 5-7 minutes of the film. She first dialogues with Trece, one of the kidnapers, about social injustice and they end up kissing, but without being untied. Then Budu, the most sadistic of the guys, comes to guard her and he quickly begins to fondle her. He will place her bound legs over his shoulder and he begins to pull down her panties preparing to rape her. Trece comes back and stops him. Following the altercation Trece cuts her binds. There are quite a few additional scenes in the DVD extras 'Making of Secuestro Express' including the tying of the actress in preparation for her various scenes. |
