Record number: 1398 Title: Hostage Hotel (1999) aka Hard Time: Hostage Hotel Medium: TV Movie Actress: Danielle Harris, Elizabeth Dennehy, Debra Christofferson Description: They're the daughter by a previous marriage, wife, and aide, respectively, of a congressman giving a speech in an old hotel being renovated, and are taken captive by a deranged veteran and his slow-witted sidekick. Harris gets grabbed first about 20 minutes in, being hand-gagged by the lead baddie who slips in behind her and an escort while touring the hotel. He and his partner take her to the room where her mother and the aide are working, bursting in and taking them captive as well, tying their hands in front and then lashing their bound wrists together with a short cord, but not gagging them. The daughter is tied standing with her hands behind her back, lashed to a rope tossed over a pipe above her, then she's stuff-gagged with a red cloth that conveniently happens to be lying close by. Later in the film, the lead baddie gets rough with the mother and slaps her a couple of times after she begs him not to throw her stepdaughter out of the window with a note taped to her body-as he had done with the aide-but to take her instead. By this time, the daughter has been tied to the arms of a wooden chair by her wrists and ungagged. Before the daughter takes flight, however, hero Burt Reynolds and his buddy show up, necessitating a change of plans. As the mother escapes, the baddie takes the daughter to the basement, where he sits her in a chair, lashing her wrists together in front again and stuff-gagging her once more with another convenient red cloth. |

Record number: 7878 Title: Man Who Turned to Stone (1957) Medium: Movie Actress: Charlotte Austin, Jean Willes, Barbara Wilson Description: Horror pic about group of creeps who run a women's reformatory, who figure out how to to prolong their own lives by draining the lives of innocent victims. Fortunately for us, they decide that the best subjects are young, pretty women. This provides 4 good scenes: 1. A few minutes in, the creepy, zombie-like Eric has kidnapped a woman, and is carrying her to their lab. She kicks & screams repeatedly before fainting. No bonds or gag. Short, but good views of the woman. 2. About 20 minutes in, they set up a shy, young inmate by putting her in solitary, while everyone else is watching a movie. This allows Eric to steal into the room while she's sleeping. She looks up at him and begins to scream, but is handgagged, and he carries her off. In the lab, her arms are bound behind her back with rope and she's gagged with a white cloth over her mouth. This is all shown. Then she's placed in a tub of water up to her neck. Although she doesn't struggle at this point, there are two good close-ups as the life gets drained out of her (all bloodless). 3. About halfway through, another woman is kidnapped & carried off, and is handgagged as she struggles. In the lab, she's gagged with white cloth over the mouth and really puts up a fight to avoid her fate. Of course she loses and in the next scene she's in the tub but has mysteriously lost the gag. 4. Toward the end, the main heroine is restrained and injected with a drug, then she's dragged unconscious up to the lab. In the next scene, she's in the tub with a white cloth gag over her mouth. There are several shots of her during the prolonged scene. She stays in a helpless semi-conscious state and doesn't struggle. |

The scene lasts about fifteen seconds as her rescuers sneak into the tent. Caveat: Neither a PAX (in which the scene came in about 45' in) nor a TV LAND airing showed anything else. If it shows elsewhere, you might check to see if there are any other shots of her in the tent before the rescue. We all know about cuts made from original airings. |

At 0:24:21(0:28:20) Nicole, wearing a blue low cut top and beige sweater, is grabbed from behind while trying to run from a man in black and chloroformed with white cloth over her mouth while she is trying to scream. She is awakened by a man pulling her upright in a chair, her hands are tied behind her back. Her ankles are apparently tied (but not seen). Her bonds are cut loose after interrogation. At 0:44:05(0:52:20) Zoe Ravena (Sampson), another cute brunette, wearing underwear & a pink robe, is grabbed from behind by a man in black, arm around her waist, hand over her mouth, lots of moaning as she is fighting to get away, kicking with her bare legs. Next, she is on her back on the floor with the villain holding his hands over her mouth as she throws punches. At 1:16:10(1:44:02) Nicole is wearing a brown top, flowery green skirt & brown high heel sandals, she walks back to the boat & sees Zoe sitting on the bunk in the boat cabin with silver duct tape gag over her mouth & hands tied behind back, but not seen. At 1:17:24(1:50:01) Nicole & Zoe, sitting on the deck of boat, silver duct tape gags over their mouths, hands duct taped behind their backs crossed, bare feet duct taped, struggling & moaning. Next, the villain rips the gags off Nicole's & then Zoe's lips while he is gloating over them. The villain slaps Zoe to the deck, Nicole says "leave her alone". Next after the villain walks away, Nicole scoots with her hands toward Zoe & says "come on, try it", then Zoe starts at the tape around Nicole's wrists. The villain comes back & puts a plastic bag over Zoe's head & duct tapes it in place. The detective guy the damsels were working with starts shooting at the villain, Nicole finishes untying her hands & then unties Zoe. At 1:58:15(1:25:38) Nicole awakens to a villain's hand over her mouth while she was sleeping on her side in a hospital bed. Note: TIMES (WITH COMMERCIALS) |
