Record number: 889 Title: Motel Hell (1980) Medium: Movie Actress: Elaine Joyce, Nina Axelrod Description: About midway through the film, Joyce's character and her boyfriend show up at the title location, mistaking it for a kinky swinger's joint. When the baddies who own it walk in on the couple bearing ropes and masks attached to gas cylinders, the couple invites them to tie them up and give them a shot of the gas. The lead baddie (Rory Calhoun) makes a spectacle of hogtying Joyce, then he and his partner render both her and her boyfriend unconscious with the gas. Near the movie's end, Axelrod falls into Calhoun's clutches, and is tied semiconscious to a conveyor in front of a meat slicer. Soon after the famous climactic chain-saw duel between Calhoun and Axelrod's boyfriend begins, the switch starting the machine is accidentally thrown, and the rest of the fight is intercut with scenes of Axelrod, now awake, screaming and struggling as she inches toward the slicer. |

Lynne hides behind a stand of some sort and watches him angrily as they antagonize the townspeople. As she is about to move, she is handgagged and pulled backward. Next she is seen standing against a pole with her hands being tied behind her back by her friends. When she tells them to "let me go" they tell her "sorry this is for your own good" and stuff a red bandana in her mouth. She gives quiet mmphs and stares at the main character, Yang, and mmphs as if to say "help me" but he just removes knives that she had on her. They forgot one though as she crouches down and grabs it as we get one last shot of her bound hands. Earlier she is blindfolded during a throwing knife exercise. |
