Medium: Movie Actress: Victoria Abril Description: Spanish film that introduced Antonio Banderas to US audiences had Abril as a B-movie actress the released mental patient played by Banderas admires. He kidnaps her and takes her to a vacationing neighbor's apartment, leaving her tied to the bed and gagged with white medical tape. He is trying to wean her off heroin, and they fall in love, of course, while she makes several attempts to escape, even retying and gagging herself when she hears him come back. When her sister finds her, Abril isn't all that anxious to leave, prompting the sister to say "You've fallen in love with your kidnapper? I suppose you like being tied up?" Abril just shrugs. As a fringe benefit to some of us, there are lingering closeups of the captive's bare feet. Scenes start at about 34 minutes of 1 hour 35 minute video and continue to 10 minutes from end. Includes going out to try to get medicines and drugs for the pain from her tooth that was broken in the initial struggle, holding hands while handcuffed together ("39 Steps" style). On a bed in white nightdress with hands cuffed in front (sometimes secured with rope to top of bed then down to ankles and foot of the bed, sometimes just handcuffs in front) white tape gag, even left on while sleeping with little other restraint. She complained that removing the tape hurt and he bought medical tape for later use. When he leaves her she is tied on a bed (hers or neighbour's when he expects someone to come looking at her apartment) hands in front and secured with thin ropes to the bed and her feet. Once she hides a lighter and uses this to burn through the rope to free herself but fails to escape from the locked apartment then reties herself before he returns. Handcuffs, rope, tape gag, a handgag when her sister come to water the plants on the balcony (at 1 hour 20 minutes), bare feet - something for almost everyone (never hands behind). Fairly short scene and it happens very fast. |

Record number: 423 Title: Remington Steele Medium: TV Series Actress: Deborah Allison Description: Episode: "A Steele At Any Price" (2.6) First seen hands bound behind back to a chair and interrogated/tortured using loud noise/music via headphones, then at a different location bound to an easy chair talking to her abductors. Her wrists are secured to the arm rests. Then seen as per scene immediately above, but now alone and tightly cleave gagged with a black cloth. The first two scenes are well lit and prolonged with facial close-up and reaction shots. Alas, the final scene, just as Laura rescues her, is under lit, in the distance, and of the blink-and-you-miss-it variety. |

Record number: 2513 Title: The Incredible Hulk Medium: TV Series Actress: Sheila Larken Description: Episode: "The Waterfront Story" (1.10) About 43 minutes in with ads, or 35mins without, Josie (Larken) finally figures out who the bad guys are. That's to her sorrow because one promptly grabs her, while the other stuff-gags her with a handy white handkerchief. Within seconds, we cut to the next sequence and we find the lass tightly tied upright to some shelves with white ropes at her chest and stomach. The villains also apply a broad strip of black electrical tape for a new gag, onscreen in a lovely close-up. The Hulk rescues the girl, but not before she mmpphhs once (frantically, and loudly) and flashes some wonderful expressions with her big blue eyes above her shiny tape gag. Scene lasts about 2 minutes, until she is ungagged and untied onscreen; the latter taking a good while due to the intricacy of the ropework. Larken's garb consists of a very nice white blouse and black pants. Non-commercial times based on the DVD release. |

| Another chance to catch the scene in this movie from a few weeks back. About 15 minutes to the end, Grace Van Dien ends up tied hand & foot & cleave gagged (with a cloth that seems to change from ultra thin to "regular" between shots) on a boat while her mom fights with the bad guy. Nice scene with some good close-ups (even if Miss Van Dein tends to "clench" the gag a bit too hard with her teeth!) |

Hall Description: Episode: "Mr. Monk Stays in Bed" (4.3) With Monk sick in bed, his new assistant Natalie (Howard) does some investigating on her own. She is snooping around the suspect's house when an ill-timed call from Monk to her cell gives the bad guy information about the investigation. He grabs Natalie from behind, just before the commercial break at around the 45 minute mark. Back from commercial, he pulls up to the lot of a recycling center. Natalie is in the front seat with him, a large piece of gray fabric tape over mouth, not the usual shiny silver stuff. He takes her out of the car and picks her up (in front) to carry her into the building, even though her feet aren't tied and her hands are taped in front. Once inside, he removes the gag and tells her that she is going to help him find a piece of evidence (a pizza box). He then frees her hands. The scene is pretty short. The initial part at the car has a couple of good closeups of her gagged face. |
