| Don't know how widespread distribution of this channel is outside of DirecTV (Channel 321). They show an old or "family oriented" movie every weekday afternoon at this time, so if you can get it it may be worth keeping an eye on. If you don't get WHT, however, this movie also shows up on the History Channel's "Movies in Time" fairly often (it's based on fact, although Granville's character is metaphorical). History Channel International also runs "Movies in Time" so check there too if you have digital cable or satellite. |

Record number: 320 Title: Guilty of Treason (1950) Medium: Movie Actress: Bonita Granville Description: Granville's fictional character is a schoolteacher suspected of collaborating with a real-life anti-Communist priest in postwar Hungary. In a torture/interrogation sequence, she is first shown sitting on the floor with her wrists and ankles tied together in front, legs outstretched. This is followed by two shots of her dangling by her wrists under a running shower, intercut with one of her sitting with her hands tied behind her inside a ring that is apparently scalding her with steam. Finally she is shown hanging limply by her outstretched arms from two large rings set into the wall behind her, to which her wrists are tied. She dies at the end of the scene after a final refusal to betray the priest. |
