| I was flipping through and saw a commercial for this. I'm willing to bet I got all the details wrong (except the channel). Freaky sci-fi movie where the mad scientist is combining human and shark DNA...and that always ends well. Unknown damsel is strapped into a metal frame with leather straps, suspended over a shark tank. "You're going to impregnate me?" "No...he is." |

Record number: 255 Title: Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) Medium: Movie Actress: Karen Allen Description: About halfway into the movie, Marion Ravenwood (Allen) is nabbed by the evil Nazis. Later hero Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) stumbles upon her in a Bedouin tent, cleave gagged with a sodden hankerchief, her wrists bound behind her back and around the center pole which supports the tent's roof. Indy ungags her and they have a tender reunion (he thought she was dead) but then rethinks the situation and decides to regag her much to her understandable (and vocal) dismay. Later, she is seen in the same predicament, briefly, as she tries to squirm away from one of the villians who unties her. In these scenes she's wearing slacks and a white and red patterned blouse. Towards the end of the film, Marion and Indy are tied to a stake back to back while the Nazis prepare to open the Ark. The ropes, curiously, tie their left wrists to the corresponding right one of their partner. When the spirits of the Ark are released, they destroy the Nazis and burn through the heroes bindings, leaving them unscathed. In the latter scene, Marion is wearing a white satin cocktail dress. |

Title: Libera me (2000) Medium: Movie Actress: Gyu-ri Kim Description: In this Korean movie Gyu-Ri Kim's character is held hostage by a pyromaniac who wants to destroy a hospital. She's tightly tied to a post rope around upper body and hands behind her back. She tries to make him desist from his insane plan, but he doesn't change his mind. A few minutes later you see her tied as described above and gagged with black tape. She struggles and pants (with beautiful closeups of her anguished face). After a cruel fight the nice guy rescues her. Gyu-Ri Kim acts the role of damsel in distress to perfection. |

In addition to this scene at the beginning, there are later flashbacks. Caveat: she swallows the jawbreaker and chokes to death. |

At about 18 minutes into the film, she's shown being led through an underground steam tunnel by the masked killer, gagged with duct tape and her wrists in a pair of early-1900s style handcuffs. In a sequence that begins about ten minutes later and continues for about ten minutes more, she's shown several times with her hands cuffed over her head and her ankles roped together, sitting in front of a large steam pipe the killer has opened and swung around towards her, making obvious the fate that awaits her if the police don't decipher the cryptic clues to her whereabouts he's given them in time. |
