Record number: 15885 Title: Abduction (2011) Medium: Movie Actress: Maria Bello, Lily Collins Description: In the first half of the film, two men force their way past Bello and into her home. Once inside a huge struggle ensues, during which they grab her by the arms and try to chloroform her with a white cloth. They manage to hold it over her mouth for about 5secs, but she fights back and ends up kicking their asses. Much later, in the second half, Collins and her fugitive boyfriend take a train in an attempt to evade their pursuers. Collins goes to get food from the cafeteria, but does not realize one of the bad guys following her. He suddenly grabs and handgags her, dragging her into an empty compartment and forcing her down onto the floor. As she lies face-up and terrified, he straddles her and pulls out a gun, threatening to cut off one of her fingers if she does not tell him the whereabouts of her boyfriend on the train. She is next shown still lying on the floor, her wrists now stretched out AOH/arms above her head and bound with a black ziptie to a metal chair. She is also gagged with a piece of duct tape, through which she mmpphhs and grunts cutely. Since her legs are completely unbound, she thrashes around and kicks down a drinking glass from a nearby table; when it breaks, she manages to free herself offscreen. Bello's scene lasts just under 10secs, whilst Collins' scene lasts a total of 45secs interspersed over a few minutes. Both are well-lit, and include a good variety of close-ups and full-body views. Bello wears a turquoise shirt, black leggings and black shoes. Collins wears a blue/white checkered shirt (showing a lot of midriff), jeans and heavy boots. |

From a pair of full-body angles, her hands appear to be bound behind her back (no visible bonds) and her legs are untied. In a continuity error, this shot shows her cleave gagged with a white cloth, but in the following 4 close-ups where is sitting on a chair, it changes to an OTM. Each close-up lasts about 2secs. She makes lots of startled, wide-eyed expressions with some mmpphhing; the last time we see her gagged, she mmpphhs loudly due to being menaced by a mouse on a nearby shelf. Leslie Nielsen unties her 2mins later, with the whole scene being well-lit throughout. |

Record number: 17419 Title: Scandal Medium: TV Series Actress: Katie Lowes Description: Episode: "YOLO" (3.9) The episode opens with a naked Quinn (Katie) lying on the floor. Her arms are folded over her chest and taped in place with enough duct tape that this almost qualifies as mummification (and serves the purpose of hiding her breasts and lower body for network television purposes). Her ankles are also taped together, and she is gagged with a wide strip of tape. She is lying face-up on a plastic tarp while her captor lays out his implements of torture. He licks the side of her face, prompting her to mmpphh continuously and make some really nice wide-eyed expressions. The tape is then peeled off her mouth, only to be replaced with a mouth spreader so that he can get access to her teeth. An interruption by a phone call gives her a moment's reprieve but, after the call ends, her captor needs to leave her for a bit. Before he leaves, he decides he has time to pull out one of her teeth first....and does so (not shown onscreen). At 9mins (without commercials) we briefly come back to Quinn, who is still lying on the floor and tape gagged again. One side of her face is bloody from the pulled tooth, which is next to her on the floor. At 15mins she looks around the room and spots a glass on the table. She mmpphhs, grunts, struggles and squirms across the floor to try and kick the table over with her taped-up bare feet, but the glass doesn’t break when it falls to the floor. At 21mins she manages to smash the glass with her feet. The action picks up again less than a minute later as she is trying to cut herself loose. She has barely managed to start to cut the tape around her bloodied wrists when her captor comes back and re-tapes her hands. Lots of frantic mmpphhing before he rips off the tape from her mouth again, gives her a handgag, then pulls out another tooth (also not onscreen). At 29mins she is finally found by a friend and released (offscreen, which is shame since it would have been interesting to see how they got that much tape off of her while staying in character). |
