Tuesday December 19 04:57:54 2017 La Rosa De Guadalupe??? |
Some days ago I found this pic which is allegedly referring to an episode of the Mexican serial 'La Rosa De Guadalupe'. However, this particular episode entitled 'Solo Para Mi' on YT does not seem to exist at all, nor is the episode on YT related to the pic at all - actually, it is an episode without any DID-related content from the Mexican serial 'Lo Que Callamos Las Mujeres'. As you can see by the sign (bottom right) begging for subscription the pic seems to stem from 'La Rosa De Guadalupe' originally, but I have never come upon this episode so far... It is NOT from the episode 'El Amor No Se Obliga', which might come to mind at first glance because the gag-style could be almost identical: https://www.google.de/search?q=rosa+guadalupe+solo+para+mi&dcr=0&tbm=isch&source=lnt&tbs=qdr:w&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjjsKue5ZXYAhVjB8AKHSheDYEQpwUIHg&biw=1024&bih=446&dpr=1#imgrc=_iZAzn28Pjn8bM: Anyone? |

Still that era did give rise to our enduring > fascinating with wide tight otm's so there's always an upside :) According to the IMDB, the screenplay for 1939's "Jamaica Inn" was written by Sidney Gillant and Joan Harrison. If it hadn't been for them, there would never have been a gag scene to begin with. The reason that was the only gag scene in a Hitchcok film is simple: that was the only time the writers gave him one to work with. As for the lack a cleaves, could it possible be that OTM gags are easier to draw than celves, especially in newspaper comics, where these need to be put out on a daily basis. |

Few do a F/F handgag better |

It's interesting that the majority of women's gags in film and tv in the 1940's & 50's in the US were otm or "detective" style gags. There were exceptions though which makes those scenes stand out e.g. Pony Soldier in '52. Fantastic stick-bit gag for Penny Edwards in that. And Jane Russell in The Outlaw('43)sported a tight cleave(along with her legendary cleavage lol). |

Otm's are fine when wide and tight like in those glorious just-posted Avengers pix. But I'm a tape gag fan been trying to think of scenes in the Forties and Fifties featuring them. Have seen pictures from Ghost Catchers in 1944 which had great(and very wide)tape gags and a tape wraparound too! But can't think of too many other examples. Are there any standout tape gag scenes in film/tv in those years? |

Ah Linda Thorson. Definitely one of the loveliest most-gaggable damsels of all time. And how many f/t scenes did she get in just one season of The Avengers? 5? 6? Writers/directors were having a field day with her character.... |

'Thorson's professional career took off abruptly when the 20-year-old was chosen (out of over 200 hopefuls) to succeed Ms. Rigg's "Emma Peel" as Patrick Macnee's new female TV partner.' Wonder if there were any notable names among the 200 hopefuls . |
