If anybody was still wondering, Daisy does get captured and put into First Order Binders. She looks good in cuffs. Gags do nothing for me, so I liked this scene a lot. |

Can you add "2018" to the "VCR Alerts" section's drop-down menu? Thanks. |

You must tell me if that hurts. Of course, you can't. How silly of me. Put your hands down. Put your hands down or I shall have to tie them up, too. Right. This will prevent the cord from cutting your wrists." |

That original Jamaica Inn scene is so hot. Hard to believe they filmed it in 1939! That cleave is wonderfully tight on Maureen O'Hara, better than most you see today. That glorious close-up when he gags her too followed by the villain hiding her in plain sight with glimpses of her gag under her hood. Extremely sexy for its era, shame Hitchcock never did a similar scene with all his lovely Hollywood leading ladies. And an even bigger shame that every version since including Jane Seymour's '83 take and the one made a few years back left out gags completely. Missed opportunities, and why the original is definitely the best. |

Just imagine young Jane wearing that tight white cleave like Maureen. Woulda been celebrated to this day. I've never read the book they're all based on but I assume there were no gags in it hence the more "faithful" later adaptations. Kudos to ole Alfred for creating a truly memorable scene in his version. Managed to get away with a cleave just as censorship and the later Comics Code deemed cleaves overtly sexual and there was nothing but otm's for 20 years or so. Still that era did give rise to our enduring fascinating with wide tight otm's so there's always an upside :) |

And Laughton's wife Elsa Lanchester had a great scene with Yvonne Craig |
