Re: Revolution- Tracy Spirakos next week
Seems like she's in a chair tie death trap similar to the climax of Joyride just with a crossbow rather then a shotgun.

Will there be an encore presentation of this episode later in the week?

Yup, looks like it, which means that we are probably in for a great scene! I was hoping she wold get the treatment ever since I started watching the show. I actually watch and kinda like this show, but I haven't watched the latest episode yet, so kudos to the guys who wrote about the scene and uploaded the picture! You sirs, definitely made my day!

Looks like the old rocking the chair back and forth to try to tip over and get out of the way of the projectile.

We'll probably have to look at her sideways.

Yes, it was the water scene. Two asian guys were testing her and they tied her underwater. Her hands were tied apart behind a post.

No tied ankles in any of the shots.

The scene would have been a lot better if they went with the first cut. Grace Park said she wasn't ready when they pulled her in and was kicking very hard trying to get out of her restraints. Her wrist and ankle break away restraints didn't break away. This would have made a lot better scene than what we got. The reshoot of the scene last week was lame. Her ankles weren't restrained and there was minimal struggling.

General Hospital
Kristina (Lindsey Morgan) is abducted at the beginning of the episode with a handgag and dragged off. Later, see her bound to a chair with duct tape around her waist and around the back of a chair. Her hands are duct taped together at the wrists behind her back. No gag so far.

Just semantics especially when you do internet searches. Actual name is Tracy Spiridakos.

Just went through your search engine twice. Both Raising Hope, and Martha Plimpton didn't appear. I may be mispelling the two, other than that nada

Personally I like the "second lead" woman better, but it does look pretty good. Show is pretty dumb imo, but a lot of dumb shows have had good scenes.

According to the "On the next" promo, one of those pesky interfering good guys barges in tomorrow, so the scene most likely is about over.

One very brief shot near the end of the episode show her legs are taped to the legs of the chair. Scene will continue tomorrow with what looks like her rescue. Doesn't look like she'll be getting gagged.

Saw a syndicated showing last night of the episode where Kathryn Erbe's character is kidnapped by a serial killer. Really an outstanding scene; it would be on my tv top ten list. Pretty woman, nice figure. Believable hands overhead binding. Wraparound tape gag with cloth peeking over the top to show stuffing. (When the tape is (too easily) pulled down, there is cloth inside stuck to it.) And a blindfold too. Good gasping and struggling, and a variety of solid camera shots.
It's also a primer on how to have a scene which pleases both "our side" and those who demand that women never be depicted as helpless victims. After the terrific bondage moments have had their time, she escapes by rubbing off her blindfold (which briefly looks like another gag) and unscrewing the hook which holds her hands up by teetering in circles on her toes. Then she uses electricity and wires to blow open a lock and bravely and agilely climbs up to a small window (abrasion marks shown on wrists, nice work) from which she can alert a passerby.
Everyone goes home happy.
Wish writers for tv dramas would "get it" and follow this blueprint if they feel they can't do "hero on a white horse" scenes anymore. Maybe this is what they'll do on "Revolution" next week.

Many thanks to the people who made suggestions - I've put them on my list. Special thanks to Cinch for that Fastner & Larson recommendation. I think that drawing is great and will get a copy of it, either in their book or in a print. Thanks again everyone!

My bad. Watched it again and it was tape being put on her mouth. Wishful thinking on my part.

In defense of "Funny Games" the film itself was more of a 'fairy tale' about violence and indiffence in society so I believe the character sinking under the waves was allegorical to how death/violence can be committed then quickly forgotten. Her struggling at the end, if at all, was irrelevant to the plot from the point of view of the killers. Similar to "Natural Born Killers" you can't take the action / violence in those films seriously, only what it represents.

Didn't mean to get to heady here but in summation some unrealism such as that can be forgiven where in the case of "Hawaii 5 0" it can't. In fact, it would've been more dramatic had Grace Park been fighting for air at the surface than sinking so they screwed up on two counts.

Scenes likely in the new release "Sinister," with a big caveat
Happened across a review of the well-reviewed new horror film "Sinister," which is opening in limited release in theaters. The review suggests the appearance of some scenes, though they're clearly of a very violent (and deadly) nature, and clearly will include both genders. You're thus advised. Not my deal, but I'm posting this for completists. Here's an excerpt form the review, in which the main character discovers Super 8 reels of murders:

[They have sardonically ghoulish titles like Pool Party '86 (in which people are duct taped to outside lounge chairs and then pushed into the nearby pool to drown) and Sleepy Time '98 (a family taped to their beds has their throats get slashed by the person holding the camera).]

Like I said, rough stuff. Whether this suggests any potential (hopefully non-lethal) scenes for the present-day characters is up for speculation. The main character's a dude (Ethan Hawke), but his costar is an attractive blond (Juliet Rylance), so there might be something there.

BluRay Bonus Features has "Marvel One-Shot: Item 47" with the main female character captured by a Shield agent and secured. Her hands are behind her back and presumably zip cuffed (like her boyfriend's, shown earlier), her ankles are zip cuffed, and she has a plastic strap holding her arms against her torso between her elbows and breasts.
