German 90s TV movie called "Du hast mir meine Familie geraubt" but good luck trying to find it anywhere. The Germans evidently didn't tape things all that much, in any case it's really hard to track down old German scenes.

Drive Away Dolls
I'll say this much about the scene: With all that bright lighting, vivid close-ups & expressions, plus beautiful gags, they had a chance to recreate a modern version of Partners In Crime.......But instead they had them sit quietly doing nothing. Could've been scene of the year material.

Anyone got any ideas as to why, after 40yrs, we still have not had a double-damsel scene anywhere near as good? I mean constant gag-talk, the energetic struggling/escaping, several minutes in length....it just never happens. I can't even think of a scene BEFORE 1984 that was as classic.

True, I have mentioned before, it is difficult to get any of these German TV movies from the beginning of the century, there have been no re-runs for many years.

Regarding this movie in particular, you can do a search for the Italian version "La vendetta di Maya" and find most of it on a well-known video site.

Jolly Joker
Speaking of classic stuff difficult to find, there has been announced the release of the German TV series Jolly Joker on DVD, release date in August.
Let's hope it works out, I will believe this only when I see it. Image quality will probably be moderate because the source material is from 1990. Never aired again since 1992.

Last but not least, thank you Mr Moderator for all the work you put into maintaining this forum. I am well aware of it, as I have been around for about 25 years now, I think.

This series' reputation precedes it; at least in DiD-fan circles. I'll certainly buy the dvd when released. Always thought
Jolly Joker *may* have influenced the infamous "Unhappy End" thriller series. Which was basically all about bondage for very lovely frauleins :).

What ever happened to this comic book series? I used to collect it during the Eighties. The story plots were replete with female characters bound and gagged, usually in superhero costumes or bikinis. I recall one story where a beautiful blonde named Janis was discovered bound and gagged in short denim shorts, and another where a tough, feisty brunette named Tara was bound and gagged in a bikini.

Biggest 40s/50s movies with gagged damsels?
What were the biggest movies from the 40s/50s that included gagged damsels? Like movies that were considered blockbusters back then, with famous actresses for the time. Anything comes to mind?

Record number: 987

Title: Rio Bravo (1959)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Estelita Rodriguez

Description: This western stars John Wayne as the sheriff in a small town. He's friends with a local Spanish couple that runs the hotel. At one part the bad guys try to get him while he's in the hotel and the girl, Consuela is tied up and gagged in the other room. She is bound to a chair and cleave-gagged with a yellow cloth. There is only one pretty good close-up and her husband gets B&G too, so try to ignore him. Unfortunately, his gagging happens on screen, and hers does not. Ms. Rodriguez is very cute, however. A good, but brief scene. It starts about 3/4 through the movie. (About 30 to 40 minutes from the end with adverts).

The actress is also shown a few minutes later being ungagged and forced to scream as part of the plot to capture the good guys. Again, pretty brief. There are a couple of real quick scenes later showing her from the side or back - blink and you miss them. A real crime that heroine Angie Dickenson didn't get a scene here as she is at the peak of her considerable attractiveness.

PS-This movie kicks ass, especially if you like westerns!

Record number: 12709

Title: They Came to Cordura (1959)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Rita Hayworth

Description: She's a suspected sympathizer of Pancho Villa being escorted as a prisoner of a U. S. Army cavalry detail commanded by Gary Cooper-a promising setup that really doesn't pan out. About an hour and fifteen minutes in she's waylaid by a couple of soldiers, one of whom snatches a large white cloth from her hand and cleave-gags her with it, pulling it taut with his hands instead of tying it. Cooper, of course, comes to the rescue before anything untoward happens.

Record number: 1526

Title: The Big Sky (1952)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Elizabeth Threatt

Description: Teal Eye (Threatt) plays an Indian princess who can open the Missouri River to the fur-traders by acting as an interpreter. In the last half, evil trappers ambush her in the woods, first hand-gagging her, then binding her wrists behind her back and detective gagging her with a silken hankerchief (Brief ten second scene).

Later our heros, when the good guys ambush the bad guys' camp find Teal Eye with her wrists bound in front and no longer gagged. Two short scenes.

Record number: 1953

Title: Pony Soldier (1952)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Penny Edwards

Description: Emerald Neeley (Ms. Edwards) is captured by Crees, along with a man. Around the 25' mark (in the AMC airing I saw), she's shown being freed by hero Tyrone Power.

She's inside a tent at the camp. The scene is very brief. She's bitgagged, and Power is just cutting her wrist bonds behind her back when the cut is made to the tent. She removes the gag, and that's pretty much it.

Later, about 70' in, recalcitrant members of the Cree nation grab her again and whisk her off. We see her again bitgagged (appearing to be made of leather, secured by thongs or cords wrapped around the ends) and bound wrists behind. After a long march, they bind her ankles over her flowing skirt, and build a fire to immolate her.

Power, a Cree chief, and a Cree boy save the day. This scene runs about six minutes.

In the 1940s-1950s, the movies-studios system and inexpensive theater ticket prices translated to focusing on producing a large number of movies on-time and within-budget, rather than today's blockbuster-or-bomb approach.

Perhaps you're seeking "Classics" or well-regarding films, rather than "blockbusters"? Three come to mind:

"This Gun for Hire" (1943) starring Veronica Lake.
"The Outlaw" (1943) starring Jane Russell.
"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (1947) starring Virginia Mayo.

Posts from two or three people in early January of last year show that the scene was nowhere near as good as most people remember. A combination perhaps of scene creep, one nice photo that circulated (TV Guide) and perhaps mixing Kim Basinger's scene with a brief but better one administered to Jennifer Sham in the same episode. Anyway: Kim does get a brief handgag/chloro second. There is a blinky moment of the villain's hand pulling tape off a mouth, but since his obscures most of the (lower) face being shown, it's impossible to be sure it's even Kim. And there are a few shots of Kim with arms behind her back, but only in one is there even a glimpse of ropes. All in all, better (mis)remembered than actually seen again, unfortunately.

It's still published, but infrequently, and the bondage is no longer featured as prominently.

Jade 2024
So in another upcoming James Bamford action film, the movie stars Shaina West and Katherine Mcnamara. Near the middle act, Shaina West's Jade gets captured by Mickey Rourke's mafia boss bodyguards and zip tied to a chair in an interrogation. Katherine Mcnamara is only held by Mickey Rourke for the drive Jade has.

Where did you find this? I’ve been looking up the movie to find news and all I get is the iMDB page. No trailer, nothing.

Did we watch the same gagged and bound scene? I found it most serendipitous. The expressions on their faces while gagged and bound are amusing. There is some gagtalk, perhaps more groaning.

While I like the scene from Partners in Crime, let us be honest. It is a combination of beautiful actresses with name recognition who are gagged and bound. I would also speculate some of it has to do with it being an older, iconic scene. But the cleave gags there are on the thin side, though there is gagtalk and moving around to shake free of their bonds.

Amores had a triple then quadruple gagged and bound scene with a cross dressing captor. Or do you mean only two damsels alone? Turkey has produced a few double damsel gagged and bound scenes as did Brazil recently. If you mean English language only, then perhaps you have me there.
