Sunday June 17 22:33:31 2001 Duplicate Entry Dilemma |
What do we do in an instance like this, two entries for the same scene, but the second entry has more information?
Record number: 1346 Title: Tales From The Crypt Medium: TV Series Actress: Michelle Bronson Description: Episode: "King of the Road" Bronson's character is kidnapped by a psycho drag racer who wants a race with her dad. About halfway through the episode we see a couple of quick shots of her lying on her side in a car trunk, her leather-cuffed hands chained above her to the trunk lid's hinge, and silenced with a red rubber ball gag. Although the scene is very brief, it's notable as one of the rare uses of a ball gag on series telelevision. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Record number: 5571 Title: Two-Fisted Tales (1991) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Michelle Bronson Description: Failed pilot for a "Tales of the Crypt" spin-off which used a live action host. Two of the segments were ultimately incorporated into "Tales of the Crypt" with new cryptkeeper intros and are usually seen in that format. In the part "King of the Road", where Brad Pitt plays a daredevil roadracer, there is a scene where the daughter of his rival-to-be can be seen bound by chains and ballgagged in the trunk of his car. |

I believe this is another case of duplicate entries for the same scene:
> > Record number: 5616 > > > > Title: Misfits of Science > > Medium: TV Series > > Actress: Courteney Cox > > > > Description: Episode unknown > > > > Gloria Dinallo (Cox) is captured by the commie > > spies. The next scene shows her tied up in a closet and > > > cleave gagged with thick white cloth. > Yes, these are two different scenes. The one with her > briefly shown bound and gagged in a quick, dark scene > involved the Misfits trying to help some Russian who > wanted to defect to the US. Their plan was to make the > Russian disappear during a magic show. I believe that entry 5616 is the same as entry number 108 (reprinted below). If we are agreed, I'd like to ask the database team to make the necessary fixes. Record number: 108 Title: The Misfits Of Science Medium: TV Series Actress: Courteney Cox Description: Disappears during a magic trick, later turns up in a locker bound and gagged. Very brief scene. |

The second entry should be deleted, but data can be transfered to the existing one if the editor feels like it. > Record number: 1346 > > Title: Tales From The Crypt > Record number: 5571 > > Title: Two-Fisted Tales (1991) In this case, because their are two different titles and media, I left both entries. I added (see DB entry 1346) to the second one. |
