Some thoughts on the DB tags. First up, in answer to Sam’s question; let’s keep office attire (including pantsuits) out of the attire_uniform tag. We can add an “attire_office” tag if there is any interest. A question about the gagtype_stuffing tag: I was under the impression that we had decided that it would include pure stuff-gags, including the Four Rooms scene that you had included as an example. If you want to separate them out, we should come up with another one to cover the type – maybe ‘gagtype_useless’ since I’ve never seen one that couldn’t easily be spit out if it wasn’t secured in place. We can talk about it. Raffish’s suggestion of a “position_” tag and another user requesting “barefoot” are both pretty good ideas. The simpler one to deal with is “barefoot”, and can easily be handled with a “footwear_” prefix. The ones that spring to mind immediately are: “footwear_bare”; “footwear_socks”; “footwear_nylons”, “footwear_boots”, “footwear_heels”, “footwear_sneakers”. There will probably be some additional examples to add, though if anybody requests “footwear_flipflops” they should probably be banned from the board. The “position_” prefix is a bit more complicated in that there are so many possibilities to consider. At some point does it become counter-productive to have separate tags for something like “position_chair_HBB” and “position_chair_wrists to armrests”, or should be just go with a simple “position_chair” and let people read the description that pops up? I’m inclined to keep things simple, and have a basic list of possible positions (i.e., hogtied, standing, reclining, chair, post, spreadeagled, etc.). The text will hopefully give the specific details of the scene. Some of his other suggestions are also very good, but again, it starts to create an unwieldy system. A “knockout” tag may be a good idea, but on his own, he has 17 examples listed. Rather than having 17 tags, maybe we can just define the “KO_” as a tag, and let the freeform tailend of the tag take care of itself. The same kind of thing applies with the bondage material. As literally anything can be used as a restraint, we can have a basic “restraint_” tag, with freeform text behind it. The obvious ones like rope will yield more results than are useful, but some unusual ones might bring up a reasonable set of responses. I want to try to keep the set of definitions fairly simple so that people that enter DB entries will not get too frustrated with trying to determine which tags to use and just skip them altogether. Thoughts?

Cool. Gagster's suggestions sound mostly great to me. It seems as though we should be trying to find a balance between being specific enough that people can narrow down the elements they're looking for, vs. so specific that they get frustrated by a zillion options when creating entries. We certainly don't need anything as involved as the list I posted to Discussion. Maybe a reasonable compromise would be make most of the tag suffixes freeform (as Gagster suggests for "KO"), but with a list (linked from the submission page) of "highly recommended" suffixes to start with? As editors, we'd then just keep an eye on what people are actually submitting, and either bring the tags in line when they get too far out there, or adjust the "recommended" list when a new tag turns up that's clearly useful. A few more ideas for prefixes and "recommended" suffixes: position_handsbehind position_handsinfront position_handsatsides position_handsspread (incl. hands to chair arms and upper-only spreadeagles) position_handstogetherAOH position_feettogether position_feetspread (incl. feet to chair legs and lower-only spreadeagles) position_hogtie position_strappado position_spreadeagle position_suspension (replaces standalone "suspension" tag) Additions: outfit_blindfold outfit_hood outfit_dress/skirt (these could be separate but sometimes it's hard to tell, and most of us don't really distinguish for scene purposes) outfit_shorts outfit_jeans outfit_robe tiedto_bed tiedto_chair tiedto_post tiedto_table tiedto_rack knockout_... (see my earlier list) peril_fire peril_gas peril_drowning peril_hanging peril_bomb peril_gun peril_piercing restraint_rope restraint_tape restraint_chains restraint_handcuffs restraint_cableties restraint_straps restraint_wire restraint_stocks Additions: gagtype_cleave gagtype_tape gagtype_handgag ending_escape ending_release ending_rescue ending_death Miscellaneous tags: male_interference (doubt too many will be looking for this, but as a warning) sexual_content multiple_damsel

*I'm fine with not including officewear under the "outfit_uniform" tag, at least for now. "outfit_office" looks fine for a future tag. *I must've misread it at the time, but I thought you meant for "gagtype_stuffing" to NOT include stuff-only gags. If you'd prefer for them to encompass both, that's fine, but I would like it more if "mouth packing with something to hold it in" had a tag of its own. Possibly "gagtype_impractical" for pure stuff gags (example: Libby Davison in The Bill S15E83) *To follow up on "gagtype_faux", can we agree that an entry MUST have an actual scene in it, even if it's a different actress performing it? To use my example of Thoroughout Modern Millie: Julie Andrews has a faux-gag scene, but not an actual scene; however, there IS at least one (well, 3) proper scene in the movie, hence the basis of the entry. Otherwise there might be a temptation from some folks to start adding a bunch of their own imaginative definitions of faux-gags, with nothing else of actual interest. *Some kinda tag for barefoot is good, but......... Now I realize I actually hadn't thought this far ahead. I never would've thought of "footwear_", "restaint_" or "position_", but if we're going all the way with this, might as well do it right. I've already blitzed as many entries with "gagtype_wraparound", "gagtype_stuffing" and "outfit_swimwear" as I can, so moving on to the aforementioned ones seems like the next logical step.
