Brief but nicest OTM detective gag with good emoting and mmmphhhing from the rescued damsel. Unfortunately, sort of wrapped body with emerging ropes. And cherry on the cake, moments before the scene in itself (8min 44s), one of the baddies about to kdnap the hot period lady says : "So what? Want a picture of it? There's the rope and the gag (that will do fine) etc.". Recalled those lines from childhood of course. | Well this new Tubi original finally aired and it had several scenes as I had predicted from the trailer; just none of them as satisfying as I had hoped given the overall premise of the movie. In the opening minute, we see a redhead, Katie, (Madeleine Kane) taped to a chair in a basement and cleave gagged with a thick black cloth. She has a bit of blood on her forehead and we get a few good closeups of her gagged face. After a minute, It is implied that she meets a bad end as the killer approaches her with a knife. Next at 12 minutes in, we see another damsel in a similar predicament, taped to a chair in the basement and nicely cleave gagged. Her face is a little more bloodied then the last damsel and we also get a few closeups of her too. This damsel is played by Nicole Amber Farrugia and we only see her for a brief minute before she meets a bad end as well. Next at about 29 minutes, we see another damsel, Paige (Jamie Bloch), a brunette in a nice red dress, in the same predicament, taped to the chair and cleave gagged. We get a few minutes of her before she also meets a bad end. Finally in the final few minutes of the film, after we think the killer has been caught, we learn that the real killer setup the person who was arrested and has actually kidnapped the lead's friend, Camilla (Hannah Vandenbygaart) who is shown taped to a chair and cleave gagged like all the previous damsels. One of the few frustrations here though is that she is significantly more bloodied than the previous damsels and her gag appears far sloppier and looser than the previous damsels as well. We get a brief flashback of closeups of the previous 3 damsels gagged faces before it's implied that Camilla is killed and the movie ends. All in all, we get 4 different damsels with several closeups but it is frustrating than all 4 scenes are rather brief and dark. Also not a fan of the grim ending and blood. The biggest miss for this movie was that the cute blonde lead snoop, played by Emma Elle Patterson, doesn't get any sort of scene even though she goes as far as going undercover on a dating app and breaking into the supposed-killers house, just to try to catch the killer. Could have been a nice cherry on top for this film if she got any sort of scene and didn't meet a bad end like the other damsels. I'll have an edit of the scenes up at some point today but the film is available for free on Tubi for those that want to check it out. |
