Wondy is the only fictional character that ever broke the "one bondage scene per story" rule. You know, if a damsel gets tied up, say on Charlies Angles, once she's rescued you can then turn off the TV cause the fun is over. Not so with WW. She would get tied up two, sometimes even three times in a single story. And thats not to mention female companions and the female villains who would also get bound and gagged in the same story. Nyoka and others were drawn by men who might have been savy to there being a bondage fetish cult out there that would buy their comics when they included a scene but Marsten, WW's creator, was a full-on bondage lover. A proto-Brian's Pager except he didn't just sit on his butt waiting for scenes to come to him like most of you guys, he went out and created them himself. Just to show you how pro-bondage WW was, in her very first solo issue her magic lasso is stole by her Nazi rival. She then goes out to look for it and comes upon a boy playing cowboy with a lasso and wonders if he might could offer any clues. But instead of going up to him and simply asking, "Hey kid. Seen a golden lasso anywhere around this place?", she goes up to him and offers to be an indian he can lasso. And he does! "You're my prisoner now!", he tells his roped heroine, "You have to be tied up!" "I surrender!", she replies, "You can tie me to that post!" He then ties her to it and challengers her to get loose which, unfortunately, she does in the next panel. Now think about it. Your most powerful weapon is stolen by the most evil people on earth, the Nazis, who may use it to enslave all mankind.
