| I was browsing through the Thriller catalogue for MarVista Entertainment movies and found a trailer for a new Lifetime movie called Secrets in the Woods. The trailer shows Brittany Underwood tied hands in front and cleave gagged with a white cloth. Not sure when it’ll air but the trailer was posted recently. https://youtu.be/gsbT0J9DPlc Also another MarVista Entertainment movie that looks like it might have potential is the one airing this Sunday on Lifetime titled Driven to the Edge/Deadly Rideshare. They haven’t posted a trailer yet but based on the premise, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. |

| Heads up for those who are keen on resolution upgrades. There's a new 1080p Amazon version of Birthday Girl released by NTb, but I was MASSIVELY disappointed to find out that it's been cropped to holy hell, from open matte 16:9 (my original 720p edit from 2013) to the oh-so-ghastly 2:35. All that pin-sharp quality gone to waste. Remember this shot showing Nicole Kidman in all her leggy glory? https://i.imgur.com/jxDBiSy.jpg Well, the 1080p is cropped all the way up to her thighs, ffs. Unacceptable! An 8GB download gone to waste. Just letting anyone else know who might've been planning an edit. Cropping from an original deserves the death penalty, says I. |

| Interesting. I remember when that movie first came out the aspect ratio was 2.35:1. I had assumed it was shot with anamorphic lenses and that was all there was to it, but now that you mention it I see you're right. It was shot on super35 and cropped for the theatrical release. Unfortunately it sounds the wider version was the director's preferred framing and the open matte is the anomaly. |

| If you really want to be frustrated by a widescreen Nicole Kidman movie look no further than this scene in Trespass (2011): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dZ0XvmtNRANVh05DjdXYhu9bV8EY9Vec/view?usp=sharing Nicole kidman is the victim of a home invasion- they have tied up her daughter and husband- and they begin to tie her up, saying "I have to tape you up" The bad guy gets tape around one wrist, and is then distracted and then interrupted, and doesn't finish. And that's it. Maybe the most frustrating scene of all time. |
