| There was a thread on the Discussion page starting 15 21:10:47 2018 on this very scene. FrenchGuy had alerted the forum to Canal Sur airing of the series in glorious HD. There was much enthusiasm over the prospect of someone recording an HD version and sharing with the community to edit. Unfortunately, nothing came of it. I remember well since this is one of my top scenes ever and the thought of seeing it in HD was very appealing. Maybe someone new has joined since that time with access to Canal Sur paid content? |

| I've got some great news! Next week, I will begin unraveling my plan to make the most cherished DiD scenes look and sound as possible. I'm very excited about this. You won't believe what I'm going to share! Here are the four main kinds of edits I will upload: 1) Clear as Day The "plain Jane" edits, carefully color-corrected from the best available source. 2) 4K Zoom Scenes processed from 4K sources, color-corrected to match non-HDR material (and even better, with added brightness!), meticulously zoomed-in shot-by-shot to fill a 16:9 frame as much as possible and downscaled to 1080p to ensure compatibility and fast data transfer speeds. That way, you get 1080p videos with 4K quality zoom-in and some shots will even be left intact to make sure you're not missing a single pixel of any damsel at any time. Note: I will not be sharing "true" 4K edits for the time being. Exported files are huge and a pain to render, plus I don't have a 4K screen or a way to view HDR colors without tonemapping. I *am* keeping the untouched 4K files for future use... 3) SeeMore Edits which combine two or more versions of a movie: widescreen, fullscreen and open matte work together to bring you the greatest amount of visual information ever. These will be available in two versions: 1920x1440 (the complete picture) and 1920x1080 (cropped to fill a 16:9 screen, but still using the extra information in some form, plus you get the usual color-correction goodness). 4) Extras Deleted scenes, making-of's, commentary snippets etc. These are very rare and difficult to find, sort of like a scavenger hunt. Even *these* will look and sound better than ever! ;) When possible, the edits will feature isolated mmmphs from a surround mix, processed by hand and encoded as "dual mono" stereo sound for maximum compatibility and ease. Otherwise, the original mono/stereo mix will be used, with minimal enhancements for clarity. Stay tuned! |
