Record number: 1053 Title: Xena: Warrior Princess Medium: TV Series Actress: Lucy Lawless, Katrina Browne, Julie Taylor, Renee O'Connor, unknowns Description: Episode: "Locked Up and Tied Down" (4.07) In an episode clearly intended to pay homage to the women-in-prison exploitation flicks of the early 1970s, Xena (Lawless) is arrested for murder at 3m (w/o commercials). Her wrists are chained in front of her, her ankles are hobbled by chains, and an iron collar is put around her neck. At 5m Xena is sitting with Gabrielle (O'Connor) in a room during her trial. She is still wearing irons around her neck and her wrists. A flashback is shown at 7m when Thalassa (Browne) is tied to the ground in an upper half spreadeagle at the water's edge of a subterranean sea inlet, leaving her to be devoured by flesh-eating crabs. At 9m Xena is brought to a ship, still with chains attached to her wrists and neck. She is herded up the gangplank with a group of other women prisoners. At 12m Xena and eight other women are quick-marched into the prison. All are linked to each other with a chain, and all have their wrists chained in front of them. Xena, however, is the only one with an iron collar to which a chain is attached. They are lined up in front of a scaffold so that the head guard could lecture them. Two guards bring out a woman (Taylor) whose hands were bound behind her. They take her up to the scaffold, put a noose around her neck, and hang her. At 17m dozens of women, including Xena, are brought into the prison yard, all with wrists chained in front of them, with a few hobbled by chains as well. At 18m Xena buries the hanged woman, her wrists still chained. At 20m Xena is helping to unload supplies. Among the women prisoners are some with wrists chained. The guards' casual brutality finally causes Xena to lose her temper. It takes a bit for the guards to finally subdue her, but once they do they chain her wrists behind her. At 26m there is a flashback of Thalassa being nibbled on by crabs. At 27m Xena is brought into a room, hogtied with chains, and neck-collared. She is then thrown into a rat-infested pit. She survives the rats by killing a number of them with her teeth. She remains there until Gabrielle sneaks her chakram into the pit. At 34m Gabrielle (O'Connor) is brought into Thalassa's office with her hands behind her back, though you don't see her bonds. At 35m a new group of women prisoners stand in a line with their hands chained in front of them. Gabrielle is brought out with her hands still bound behind her, brought up to the scaffold, and has a noose put around her neck. As the lever is being pulled Xena throws her chakram, cutting the noose rope so that Gabrielle falls to the ground as the hatch opens. |

Record number: 251 Title: Phantasm II (1988) Medium: Movie Actress: Paula Irvine Description: At 23mins (Blu-ray) Paula Irvine is discovered in a crypt, in a hooded cloak. The hood is pulled away from her face to reveal she is tape gagged. Lots of moaning, then some hideous creature emerges from her back 'Alien' style. The gag appears to have two short strips of white hospital dressing tape material crossed over her mouth. Lasts 1min. At 1hr 8mins and at intervals during the next 6mins, Irvine is seen again tape gagged and strapped to a gurney being wheeled unconscious through a funeral home, where she is being taken to be cremated! Straps across chest and thighs. She revives just in time and escapes after she is placed on the conveyor into the furnace. At 1hr 27mins, Irvine is strapped down to the gurney again, stuff-gagged and threatened with being embalmed. Energetic struggles to free herself, and she ungags herself 2mins later. |
