| Something I once read about, but have never seen Title: Adventure Girl (1934) Medium: Movie Actress: Joan Lowell Description: Strange adventure yarn, where Ms. Lowell (apparently a real-life explorer) plays herself dipicting some of her adventures. The film was shot without sound, but the director added music and Ms. Lowell providing narration of the procedings. The film includes a scene where Lowell is shown wrestling a lovely Mayan princess (who actually looks better than the stocky Lowell) and another where Ms. Lowell is captured by Guatemalan tribesman, bound at the wrists and ankles to a litter and carried, kicking and screaming, to the sacrificial pyre. |
