The only thing I charge for is the cost of materials, postage, equipment and time it takes to burn my 1000 scene collection onto CD-Roms and ship them out, and that money gets sunk back into my DiD site. I cant afford to do that for free. I dont have the time or money, and Im not going to spend hours a day and hundreds of dollars for someone who wants to do nothing to help out. Now, moving on from your post, and on to all the other ones from discussion that are pointing fingers, assigning blame, but still not lifting a finger or doing anything to support ythe clippers: There are two problems here. One problem is that many people have been spoiled by others generosity and think it doesnt cost the webmasters anything or take any time to do all this work. In short, they are inconsiderate, lazy, and selfish, The "you're my bitch" attitude has caused a lot of webmasters to close shop. Its caused me to consider it many times but I usually decide not to punish many for the actions of a few. The other problem is that some webmasters who havent been doing this as long as the others dont realize, or they've forgotten, that they have no genuine claims to the scenes themselves. They dont realize that up until 6 years ago there was close to 100 FREE sites, and we were all doing it for the pleasure of doing it. back then, NOBODY could have charged for a DiD site because there were a 100 different alternative sites that they could go to for free. Now that costs of running the site eat into our pockets more than they did back then, capper/slippers either had to close shop, or come up with alternatives to cover costs and still have free clips available online. A couple of us, especiall Kerhop, Raffish, and myself realised that early on and started looking for alternative hosts while others were still opening geocities sites that got deleted every two weeks. Our foresight paid off and were still around. And the claims of the "good old boys" club is a joke. Its nothing more than some bitter, jealous excuses to blame us because they dont want to do any of the work, pay costs, or make the contacts it takes to get the extensive collections we have built over the last 10 or 20 years and have been sharing for free for many years. Unfortunately, thats not enough for some, so they come up with a pathetic "conspiracy theory" that were all selfish and against them. Yeah, some people offer free memberships as a professional courtesy, or in exchange for other memberships, but I've not asked any of those sites for free access nor do I have any. None of them have ever asked me for free material either. Thats the webmasters choice to OFFER that service and its their right. Anyway, before people start going "Thats not true, Anuvids.com is a token site that charges and Wah wah wah!" remember that I'm talking about "Vids and Dids" which is my longer running, free access mainstream DiD site, The Anuvids site's material is copyrighted and owned by myself and the other producers I work with. That site I have to pay for producing the material, and the bandwidth and hosting costs. I have a couple of holy grails on there that are higher quality, and there is a charge for those five or six scenes because theres bandwidth costs to consider. Most of those scenes are out of print or in public domain anyway. |

Before that, popular scene come on up here, then have least 10 Yanks asking, with say rough mailing cost 4$US Cuts into your beer money huh? ;) |
