The ropework used on her starts out pretty lame, but then progresses significantly. This movie takes a bit of patience -- but in the meantime the story (a strange comedy/thriller sort of thing) is quite amusing (especially the narration) and somewhat suspenseful.
When first kidnapped, she is rolled up in a blanket, which is then tied with rope. Upon being carried into the hideout, she is released from the rope and blanket -- she is not otherwise restrained nor gagged. Later, she is shown sitting in a chair with a rope around her waist holding her in the chair -- her hands are not tied and she remains ungagged -- pretty lame. Still later, she appears standing with her hands tied in front of her and tied to a post, as mentioned above -- a little better. But even later, she gets the full treatment, with her hands tied behind her back with rope, and tied to that same post, but now with a blue-and-white cloth gag over her mouth -- darned good scene! After that scene, she is shown no longer tied to the post but sometimes gagged (now with a black cloth for some reason), and with her hands still tied behind her back with rope. A few shots with her back turned show that her hands really are tied behind her back with rope -- so no trickery there. Unfortunately, there are no close-ups of her tied hands (although there is one of her gagged face) but there are no escape attempts and she is finally freed offscreen. A good, offbeat movie from India -- especially for the patient. |

Don't know if you wanted to include this.
There is a pretty good scene in the butterfly room. After the girl makes some comments about his horrible butterfly collection, a chase around the room insues. He locks a door and cuts off her escape; herds her back into the room and chloroforms her. Then there is the scene next to the fireplace with her hands tied in front but no gag. He unties her hands and she undresses for him but he spurns her advances. ("Spurns". Is that the right word?) Thanks so much for all the information. It has helped me trendously. I'm very glad you clarify the lenghth of the scenes and the types of gags, etc. I have specific tastes and if a scene is too short or simple, I usually don't bother. Take care, Michael |

In addition to the scenes previously described, there is an additional scene which was cut for syndication, but appears in the full episode on DVD. It shows the arrival of the car carrying Wonder Woman to the site of her interrogation in Germany. She is lifted out of the car, bound by a double strand of rope encircling her arms and torso, and with her wrists bound by rope as well. |
