| Let's amplify a bit: the scene occurs at 1:30 in most commercial-free showings, while Danny Kaye is sitting in psychiatrist Boris Karloff's office, and Karloff is telling him it's all a pulp magazine fantasy where the heroine is bound and gagged. A door behind the desk swings open and he sees Virginia Mayo bound and gagged.
The entry says "tied tightly to the chair." Hardly. There are a few ropes wrapped around her upper body, but her hands are held behind her and not seen, and the position suggests that her hands are not together. The gag, however, is one of the best. |
