Actress normally best shot at that. Translating out titles is 9 out of 10 useless, as OMNI and such use an English distribution title |

They can't read the Chinese characters. Probably because I'm pulling them from the Mainland and pasting them into sites from HK. I tried several HK sites and always go tthe same results--squat. However, I found this site very useful: http://www.cnmdb.com. I have found it very effective to search by either title or actress, but have been doing both to cross reference results. Has English titles where known and English or pinyin names for some of the actresses. I might have to get outside help for some of it but will continue in this vein for till I get through the whole page, then try to fill in blanks. I'm preparing an excel worksheet with medium, title, actress, and kb (tying) elements. I'm not gonna try and post the worksheet to the list again and have a similar result like last time, so i'll need some other way of getting it to you. However, that's a long way off right now since I've still got over 1000 items to research. Another big part of the project is looking up all the chinese characters I don't know, converting them to pinyin, and then using those romanized terms to search IMDB or the HK sites. IMDB often has Chinese titles and actors. pulled one image already. Hope i've pasted the link correctly. apologies in advance if it screws up. first time trying. |
