| Let's begin with three white cleaves! 1) 12 Monkeys 2x10 - "Fatherland" (Amanda Schull) This was a tricky little scene. While it wasn't THAT dark, it was plagued by the "dreamy retro" look the show employs for its time travel scenes. This had an ugly impact on the skin tones, as the bright spots looked blurry and the dark spots looked grainy. I tried my best to make the colors as natural as possible. The grain is a bit more present, but I kept it this way in order to preserve the details. I kept the part where the hero and the damsel are overpowered, but I removed the hero's knockout scene, as the damsel is knocked out offscreen (no bondage for him, thankfully). I had a low-quality copy of the movie, but I managed to make it look okay-ish and remove the green lighting. I HAD to keep the ending with the bomb because it's hilarious! She was a brunette back then. The scene was extremely frustrating, as she was briefly gagged and the director filmed her only closeup from the side. Then, years later, blonde and hotter than ever, she delivers another B&G scene and... it looks like total crap. Time for Clear as Day to save the day. I actually had worked on this *three times*: First, all I had was the terrible iTunes version, which may have been in 1080p but looked just as bad as the DVD in the dark scenes. Then, the Amazon version came along, which looked miles better, but the HDD crash happened before I could finish it. Now, I give you the best version possible. AFAIK, the movie hasn't seen a Blu-ray release yet, which is a shame; the Amazon release looks great, but still suffers from compression artifacts and macro-blocking, as you can see. Still, you can now actually see what's going on! You may also notice that Zodiac's voice becomes quieter for a few seconds; this is because I discovered that some of Bibb's mmmphing is actually panned to the front left channel of the surround mix, so I had to isolate that part. Also, you gotta love the movie's explanation that, after all this time, the Zodiac Killer was just... some dude. Thanks, Hollywood!
