Their prospective landlady attacks and apparently kills the husband before pursuing the wife (Gomez) around the building. In trying to escape Gomez discovers the landlady is holding other people captive, among them Diaz whom she finds in a bathroom stood in front of the sink, her hands are tied in front of her with a thin wire the other end of which is tied to a pipe against the wall, her ankles are likewise secured and there is a large sticking plaster across her mouth. Gomez unties her wrists but then has to hide when the landlady catches up with her. Gomez does not take the tape off Diaz's mouth because she is interrupted by the arrival of the landlady.
