I saw an online news article about an actress or model who was accused of faking her own kidnapping in order to rejuvenate her declining career. The two kidnappers are wearing masks reminiscent of the characters from the Mad magazine cartoon, Spy vs. Spy. |

| Pleased to announce that a personal holy grail has just made it onto YouTube - Lucinda Bateson’s tapetastic scene in Watch All Night, in full and in as good a quality as there can be for it. It already existed forever on YouTube in a terribly low quality, with an ‘Into bondage? Tieupyourdate’ advert in the corner and an extreme fuzziness and yellowy tint. I just happened to Google for it again yesterday when I noticed all the episodes were being uploaded one by one to YouTube. Which is mad, because it’s a 44 year old extremely forgotten ITV series that I assumed I’d never get to see. My googling for it always seemed in vain. Waiting patiently for episode 8 to drop - because that’s the episode the database entry is guessing it’s from - the action actually happens in episode 7. https://youtube.com/watch?v=L-oLRVcu7kA The lovely Lucinda, 20 or 21 at the time (old newspaper articles do help where imdb doesn’t), is tied to her home’s gas tank in the living room, arms behind and some thin ropes binding her upper body. The reason it kicks ass is the heavy black duct taping of her jeans, and her big tape gag of the same material (similar to the Band of Gold and Chandler & Co scenes of the mid-90s). The action begins at 5:29 and continues at 6:48, 8:36, 10:27 and 11:13. There’s a putz in the kitchen but he’s rarely in the same shot and can be cropped out (and during his bits you can usually see Lucinda through the kitchen door). Eventually the guy gets himself free and releases Lucinda. Even after that, she continues to have some of the ripped duct tape around one of her wrists - she doesn’t take it off even when she has a phone conversation and rushes out for a drive. Anyway, the moral of all this is: sometimes, the unlikely can happen, and scenes you’ve only ever known about in super low quality - via an edit that, as it turns out, could have been more comprehensive anyway - can turn up looking as good as they possibly can. TV scene of the 80s? A putzless edit (which as I say can be achieved more sophisticatedly now than when that other edit was made) certainly makes it a contender imo. |

| Oh and as I’ve only just noticed, she has some of the ripped tape around her jeans too after release. It stays on her as long as the ripped tape on her wrist. It’s unusual she didn’t just take all the remnants of her bondage off the moment she was free but I’m not complaining |
