| Title: Boomtown Medium: TV Series Actress: Anne Judson-Yager Description: Episode: "Coyote" (1.10) About 37 minutes in, two teenage bad guys launch their plan to kidnap the girl next door, a cute blonde named Rebecca (Judson-Yager). They knock her out with a blow and begin dragging her toward their van. One of the kidnappers is killed by a good samaritan, but the other lifts Rebecca into the van and makes his escape. A moment later, we see her lying on a cellar floor, gagged and bound (hands behind, ankles together) with duct tape. Her captor stands over her and tells her about the "fun" he's planning to have. The moment he goes upstairs to make some preparations, she squirms her way over to the wall and finds a protruding nail, which she uses to free her hands. She gets the drop on the bad guy and knocks him out, but just as she is about to escape through the front door, he catches her, handgags her, and drags her back into the house. In the final sequence, we see Rebecca standing between two posts, to which her wrists are chained and padlocked. She is still gagged. The bad guy approaches her with a nasty power tool. She kicks him in the crotch -- and since he was already injured there during the abduction, that's enough to incapacitate him until the cops kick down the door. The sequence is over by the 50-minute mark. Quality scene, with nice close-ups and great emoting by the actress. Title: The District Medium: TV Series Actress: Ashley Jones Description: Episode: "Lost and Found" (2.1) Ms. Jones is shown bound to a chair with what appears to be some kind of cable, her wrists taped in front, and tapegagged, in a basement. The scene occurs around 39' in. The tape is removed, then reapplied when the police arrive. The kidnapper is apprehended, and a detective finds her and ungags her just before the sequence ends. This latter scene comes in at about the 52' mark. Title: Jane Doe (2001) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Teri Hatcher Description: She's the title character, caught up in a mishmash involving her kidnapped son and estranged husband, both of whom turn out to be government intelligence agents. Anyway, about an hour and 25 minutes in, she ends up lying face-down beneath a particularly nasty baddie with an Australian accent, gagged and bound hand and foot, wrists behind her back, with duct tape. He pulls the gag off and, just as he begins torturing her for some needed information, a henchwoman he hired but didn't pay shows up and takes umbrage-expressed with an even more pronounced Aussie accent-at what it looks like he's doing. The only clear shots of Hatcher's bonds occur as the henchwoman cuts them off. |
