Next shown at 18mins, sitting on a chair and hooded. Her hands are tied to the armrests with thin white rope and the hood is taken off to reveal that she is cleave gagged with a shoestring-thin white cloth. Loud screaming and mmpphhing until the gag is taken off 20secs later, but the cloth is left hanging around her neck. The ropes are soon untied as well. As a side note, bits of this scene is shown for a trailer for Z Nation Season 1. |

At 13min they are now handcuffed back to back on chairs and both tape gagged with strip of tape. Their captor starts a monologue, we get some nice close ups by Marlene. The captor ungags the putz but Marlene gagged for some more time. Eventually at 18min they ungag her too and at the end of the episode they get released. Good close ups but Marlene remains silent during the entire scene. Overall the gag scene must be around 2mins. |

Just starting, it shows us a close up of Wednesday's (Jenna) face, cleave gagged with a thick, rolled up white cloth and black streams running down from her eyes. The camera pans out and we can see she is sitting at the head of a table, with her upper arms wrapped in ropes, anchoring her to the chair. She is in a dark room but we can see her clearly, and the long table is surrounded by sinister dolls also placed on chairs. Wednesday's start to calmly narrate in voice-off the events that lead to this "predicament", as she herself puts it, while the camera changes perspective to depict different aspects of the scene, including a take of Wednesday's head from the back, allowing us to see the gag tightly knotted, circling her black hair. The show changes scenario so we can watch what she is narrating, including her capture, and after some minutes it comes back to the dark room when her captor (Haley Joel Osment as a serial killer who Wednesday has been tracking) is entering pushing a cart with torture instruments. He approaches her and now we can see her from the side, to find that her wrists are tied to the chair's arms with very thick rope, so she is very securely tied. And the cleave gag looks fantastic from this view! The killer talks to her, gloating and menacingly, but she doesn't react at all. The camera shows her cleave gagged face from different angles while he is talking. Finally he reaches the gag with his hand and pulls it down, leaving it hanging around her neck. She begins to talk to him, and I won't describe the confrontation that ensues, because is a funny thing to be enjoyed while watching it. Suffice to say that, while the killer is being handed, Wednesday fiddles with her bonds in a practiced manner, until she releases herself. Also, at 05:15 in a blink-and-miss shot, we can see her legs and confirm her ankles are also tied with a thinner cord. Although, in a bit of a continuity mistake, when she gets rid of her wrists and arms bonds she just raises from the chair without needing to untie her ankles too. She then takes a big knife from the killer's cart, and looms over the fallen and now terrified killer, saying "Let's play dolls" before the screen becomes black. Wednesday keeps the gag hanging around her neck during this last part, probably she will keep it as a souvenir of this adventure. :) She is dressed in her usual black long dress and coat, with her usual hairstyle of pigtails and bangs on her forehead. |
