This page is for posting links to online streaming video, Youtube and things like that. The rules are somewhat looser than Discussion. You can post and discuss mainstream and related amateur video. Do not post clips from commercial videos. It's usually not that hard to tell the difference.

I've considered setting up a simple Google Sheet on the Drive where people could request edits, and editors could "claim" them and then post links when the edits were completed. Supply is likely to exceed demand, and just like here, there would be no guarantee or expectation that anything would ever come of posting a request. Also, trolls would inevitably try to spam/sabotage the sheet—so from the beginning, I would plan on requiring a Google login to modify it, and access for misbehavers would be revoked with extreme prejudice. But, worth a try? In particular, would other *editors* be interested in this? |

Not hard to understand why you're thinking of this ruling, Mr Mod, and Raffish's subsequent proposal for a 'request page' on the archive could certainly help those who flood this forum with requests for edits. But I hope the law of unintended consequences does not kick in -- ie. many of the Video Page's alerts of scenes on youtube and elsewhere are, it seems to me, motivated at least in part by the prospect of attracting the attention of our diligent clippers. It would be a pity if the Video Page's highly useful role as a source of scene alerts (and subsequently, in some cases, links to clips) were eroded. Just saying ... |

Yea I agree , Just hope that people who posts new unknown scenes to us as a form of requests posts the same scenes to us in a form of sharing it with us , it will make greater difference |

For one thing, the kind of access control I'd prefer—where any logged-in user may edit initially, but troublemakers can be banned—doesn't seem to be an option in Drive. It's possible that a form would be a better solution than a simple sheet, and that's a bit more complicated to set up. If anyone who's worked on this kind of collaborative project before has ideas, drop me a line! |

| Okay, let's give this a try. If you visit the top level of the Drive, you'll see two new files: DiD Scene Editing Request Form and DiD Scene Editing Request Responses. Anyone can request an edit by submitting the Form. After doing so, your request will be visible as a new line on the Responses sheet. Keep an eye on that sheet to see if anyone has volunteered to make an edit. Only editors will have permission to edit the Responses sheet directly. If you'd like to join the editing team, make sure you're logged into the Drive, then click the blue drop-down menu that reads "View only" and click "REQUEST EDIT ACCESS." I'll get an email and will add you to the access list. If you see a scene you'd like to "claim" for editing, just add your screen name to the Editor column for that scene. Once your clip and/or caps are complete, add their links to the Edit Link(s) column. (Please insert additional rows for multiple links.) That should be all there is to it. I've done some basic testing, but let me know if you have trouble getting things to work right, and I'll look into it. |
