Did anyone get any videos of Fear Is Real
I tried to record Friday's ep of Fear Is Real, but my DVD recorder, or maybe it was the DVD disk, went south and I wasn't able to get anything. I'd like to have the clips because despite the drawbacks, there was some WRITHING going on in that scene. There were some huge drawbacks -- some guy interference and it was shot in that stupid, horrible night camera vision where the people are green and the background is black. It was very well done night camera vision, but I think they're missing the whole point about viewers wanting to see the action.

However, it was an unusual scene in that the women were REALLY motivated to get out of the straightjackets -- the last one out was off the program, I believe, or at risk of being off, and there was a large boa constrictor in the room, which really freaked out the black woman. Didn't seem to bother the hot blond so much. Anyway, the straightjackets were escapable, but tight enough that the women REALLY had to writhe and struggle to get out of them. Worth seeing.

Advice on DVD Recorder
OK, my DVD recording has been going well, and I am not sure if it's the DVD recorder or the Memorex DVD-R disks I've been using.

I've successfully copied videotapes to about 40 such disks, but lately I've been having a problem -- everything will go fine for a time, then after maybe an hour or three or taping, I'll get a blue box with text saying "Cannot record this to disk" or something to that effect. When I first encountered the message, it was linked with anime I was duping from VHS tapes, so I figure it was copy protection. But now I'm getting it with everything -- stuff I've taped from cable and stuff I've made DVD recording directly from cable on.

The big problem is, after I get this message, the disk is a total loss -- none of the stuff on it is usable because I can't pull up a title (index) menu at all, in fact, I can't do anything with the disk except trash it.

The problem might be the disk, it might be the DVD recorder. If it's the disks, why was I able to record 40 disks without any problem except for (probably) copy protected anime? (Come to think of it, I recorded some anime successfully, so the problem might not be copy protection.)

I plan to buy another pack of disks and see how things go, but before I do, I plan to do some research and see if the problem might not be the DVD recorder. I really like the quality of the DVD recordings, but it's frustrating to try and tape something and then lose it. As most of you know.

Any ideas?

Any ideas?

I had two previous DVD recorders...and had similar problems to what you are having. It would record fine for many hours, and then suddenly I'd get a "Disc Error" or similar message and that disc would be crap.

What happens is, unfortunately, the laser has a life span that is sometimes quite short on these machines. I have a Memorex DVD Recorder now and it's been working fine for two years, but the problem you're describing reminds me of the two previous ones I had. One a Philips, the other a Panasonic.

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but that's what it sounds like. The laser is going.

Re: Advice on DVD Recorder
Pat: Mine went over a year and the same thing happened. It is ,however, a cheap Insinia that I paid on close out $33.00 for. It still works most of the time but every 4 discs or so I get the same message you do.I curse at it but until it blows out I'll make a few extra coasters. :-)

A Holy Grail for me!
Stumbled onto this from Youtube.....not a great scene, but my fellow barefoot fans will love it!

Title: Lucky Jo (1964)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Christiane Minazzoli

Description: An amusing French crime comedy starring Eddie Constantine, where Lucky Jo (Constantine)'s bad luck constantly gets his gang locked up in jail. The gang decides they're better off without him, but Jo decides to help them anyway, without their knowledge and to their detriment.

Blonde Minazzoli, dressed in a short nightgown, gets tied up by Eddie Constantine himself. He gags her over the mouth with what is probably her nightie, ties her wrists in front with the belt of the gown, then takes the cord from the curtain and proceeds to bind her bare feet (all on-screen). He picks her up from the chair she sits on and throws her on the bed. After she's calmed down a little, he frees her.

Lots of struggling and mmmphing from the damsel and you get to see a peek of her panties. The scene is about three minutes in length

Re: Ailing DVD Recorder
Thanks for the advice, guys. Sounds like there might be a new DVD recorder in my future. In the meantime, I'll record to safe, reliable videotape and copy the tapes to DVD when necessary, if I can get the DVD recorder to work for that. (Actually, if the DVD recorder won't copy tapes more than 1 in four times -- and presently, my failure rate is more like 50/50 -- I'm getting a new DVD recorder.

1) Dona Barbara anti-alert; 2) Compare: Original vs. Remake
Thanks DEXTOR! I'm glad that there is no further DID-scene in "Dona Barbara" because it wouldn't have been available at youtube.

Just for comparison (and to sum up the clips available): Which version do you like more, the original or the remake - "Pura Sangre" (PS - Colombia 2007/08) or "Manana Es Para Siempre" (MEPS - Mexico, 2008/09):

Scene 1)
PS > capitulo 33: Actress Jenni Osorio > hands behind, white otm >

MEPS > capitulos 61, 63 64: Actress Aleida Nunez > hands behind, green cleave >

I think that both scenes have much improved in the Mexican remake, haven't they? ;-)

I have had several come up with disc not valid when just inserting them. I just take them out and reseat them. Out of 575 burnt discs, only one would not close out and was due to a power failure during finalization of the disc.

I hate Memorex anythings. I tend to find some computer drives will not write to a Memorex disc and other just simply go bad before use. I tend to get Sony or Verbatim.

On the Fear: 13 is Real, I taped the straight jacket scene but may not get around the finalization for a few weeks. And then after buring, it would then be only after it has been archived and verified I got the scene in question.

Re: Advice on DVD Recorder
Pat,My Insignia recorder usually has few problems with Verbatim but hates TDK? Go figure. Maybe punching in with a dvd-rw the do a puter transfer to dvd-r might cut costs a bit. DVD-R plays on anything but the RW is sometimes touchy on some dvd players.
