| Just noticed this 1954 thriller is on BBC2 at 6 a.m. tomorrow, the 26th. Thoroughly decent, ordinary chaps of a motorcycle club foil a gang of smugglers who have kidnapped librarian Rona Anderson for the duration of their caper. Miss Anderson makes a lovely damsel with some great OTM gagged expressions. This early Saturday morning slot may in due course screen some other 1940s and 50s DiD classics. Dare we hope for Cat and Mouse, in which a damsel is tied to a rocking chair? |

| A clip from a old german crime movie called "Tim Frazer jagt den geheimnisvollen Mister X" with Corny Collins (but I'm not quite sure) as the damsel in distress. The movie was made in the late 60s. Collins is chloroformed at the beginning of the clip. In a basement she is tied to a chair with ropes and interrogated. Later she lies on a ground but is still tied to a the chair, now with a cleave gag. The bad guy set up a trap with a bomb. At the end the police rescue her. Quality is OK as the movie is old.
