Record number: 28459 Title: Silent Night, Fatal Night (2023) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Alex Camacho Description: The premise of this holiday-themed Lifetime thriller follows popular writer Mallory Dearborn (Alex Camacho) who is ending her acclaimed detecive novel series, much to the chagrin of her manager Michael who is still seeking a big payday from her series. With the holidays around the corner, Mallory goes to her remote cabin in the woods to relax and enjoy her new-found retirement from writing. What she doesn't account for is Michael following her up there to take her prisoner in the cabin and force her to continue writing. At about 15 minutes in, Mallory is seated on a sofa reading a book while wearing blue jeans, a cream colored sweater, and a demin jacket. She doesn't notice a dark figure of a man approaching her from behind before it's too late and he grabs her, placing a chloroform rag over her mouth and nose. She quickly succumbs to the chloroform and passes out before we fade to black. At about 18 minutes in, we see Michael entering the dark basement of the cabin. He walks towards the back of the room and turns on a light to reveal Mallory handcuffed to the bed and sporting a beige-colored cleave gag. The chloroform is just wearing off and she is starting to wake up when she notices Michael and stares daggers at him. He gives the usual spiel most villains do in these movies about how he'll "remove her gag if she promises not to scream", to which she sheepishly shakes her head in agreement too. He then removes her gag and the two talk for several minutes with Michael laying out the plan for her and why he kidnapped her. Eventually he uncuffs her after putting an ankle monitor on her to keep tabs on her. At about 26:30 into the movie, a lost hiker approaches the house seeking some shelter. Michael and Mallory are in the office with Michael trying to get her to begin writing when they are alerted to the noise of the hiker outside. Michael swifty springs into action and grabs Mallory, handgagging her before she can scream for help. He then flashes a gun in his waistband at her to get her to comply and sits her down on the office chair. He then cuffs each of her hands to each arm of the chair before whipping out the beige-colored cloth from before and cleave gagging her on screen. Mallory gives some good mmphing and struggling before Michael leaves to go deal with the hiker. The hiker ends up making his way inside and Michael greets him, trying to coax him away from the office with the bound an gagged redhead and to get him to leave before he discovers her. We do get some brief shots of Mallory struggling trying to get free during this and she makes enough commotion to draw the attention of the hiker. The hiker ends up entering the office and discovering a startled Mallory just as Michael comes up behind him and stabs him in the back as Mallory looks on in horror. After this we fade to black and we next see Mallory back in the basement cuffed to the bed again but no longer gagged. Michael comes down and talks to her after he's done burying the hiker. Eventually he lets her back upstairs off camera. At about 33 minutes in, Mallory and Michael are back in the office, presumably during the next day. Mallory is now wearing a yellow sweater, jeans, black boots and a cream colored scarf. Michael is getting her ready to continue her writing when the doorbell of the cabin rings. Once again, Michael sits Mallory down in the chair, cuffs her hands to the arms of the chair, and whips out the trusty beige cloth from his back pocket to cleave gag her with. Michael goes to answer the door and is greeted by a local sheriff who is searching for the missing hiker. Michael lets the sheriff in but trys to get him to steer clear of the office. Meanwhile, Mallory is once again struggling and making noise to try and draw the attention of the sheriff. However, this time Michael is able to convince them that the noise is nothing and gets the sheriff to leave before he goes back to the office and removes Mallory's gag. He uncuffs one of her hands and tells her to get writing before we fade to black. At about an hour in, Mallory tries to make an escape by stabbing Michael but she isn't succesful and Michael escorts her through the kitchen and back to the basement where she is left chained up once more but not gagged while Michael goes out. However, while going through the kitchen, Mallory grabbed a stick of butter. Once Michael has left, she uses the butter to remove the ankle monitor from her bare foot and then applies it to her wrist to remove the cuffs before making her final escape.
