Lastly, at the end of this movie she is shown chained to a fence at a protest. |

Title: Fargo (1996) Medium: Movie Actress: Kristin Rudrud Description: Jerry Lundegaard contracts with two crooks to kidnap his wife so he can extract a million dollars from his father-in-law. The bad guys bind Jean Lundegaard's (Rudrud) hands tightly behind her with phone cord. She's apparently gagged under a black hood, because all she does for the rest of the movie is whimper and moan. Things start to go wrong for the crooks when a policeman pulls over the bad guys' car (complete with kidnapee) because of a minor vehicle infraction. When the cop hears a moan, the bad guys kill him, then pursue and kill another driver who witnesses the murder. When the crooks arrive with their victim at their lakeside hideout, Jean breaks away and races through the woods, with her hands still bound behind her back. Unfortunately, her head is still covered by the hood, so she crashes hard into a tree. Jean is trussed to a chair with her hands bound behind her back. While one of the bad guys goes to pick up the ransom, the other guy decides he can't stand her sniveling any longer. When other bad guy returns to the hideout, he sees Jean still bound to the chair with a bullet hole in her chest. |

If recall correct? This one has a scene where some undisciplined Japanese conscript units are running wild, acting like goofs and bullying everyone in a Chinese town during WWII. Shu Qi is bound hands in front, perhaps another lady as well? and led around by the goofs. A more professional and disciplined Japanese unit shows up and starts to restore order in the area. Sure Shu is freed at this point? The romance is between Shu and a Chinese unit leader. Sure she met up with him after freed, no rescue or gags, etc. Might be worth taping for the heck of it? |

She eventually comes across some wire hangers in a closet, which she twists into a tool that pulls her bonds free. Although her feet are never tied, this is also a great scene for barefoot lovers. Happens in the last half. |

The first time comes a little over a half hour into the picture when her boyfriend (Joshua Jackson) is ordered at gunpoint to tape her hands behind her back. A moment later he's ordered to tape her mouth shut. She struggles like a real wildcat durring this scene. She had an especially great reaction to being told, "The only thing better than a fine looking woman is a fine looking woman bound and gagged!" She does another nice bit of struggling to wiggle her hands under her butt and around her feet to escape while the guys are out of the truck. The second scene comes a little after the hour mark. She's tied to a chair with a whole lot of rope and made to call her boyfriend. When the boyfriend arrives, she's detective gagged with a red bandana over her mouth. Less struggling this time but some great facial expressions in the close-ups. Each scene is spread out over several minutes. |

You see a videotaped image of Laura Linney's character, nude on her stomach on a kitchen floor. Her hands are handcuffed behind her and she's gagged with duct tape and suffocating from a plastic bag sealed over her head. Ends badly. Scene 2 occurs about 30 minutes later, approx. 95 minutes (1:35) into the movie. This is with Kate Winslet, playing a reporter, re-creating the death as part of her investigation. Kate's character is fully clothed. She tapes her mouth with duct tape, then ties a bag over her head and handcuffs herself. Her reporting partner is standing by to tear away the bag in a couple of minutes. Some good closeups of Kate's face. Kate starts struggling and mmmmmphing, and her buddy tears off the bag. Good closeup of her gagged face for a second or two after the bag comes off. Scene 3, which is less than 10 minutes later. We get to see Linney's character tape her own mouth and then put the bag on. Scene ends quickly from there. At the very end of the film is a sort-of Scene 4, in which you see slightly more of the videotape with the body of Linney's character still handcuffed, gagged and bagged. |
