| @3am Space/Imagination Record number: 9792 Title: Angel (1999) Medium: TV Series Actress: Amy Acker Description: Episode: "Why We Fight" (5.13) In this partial flashback episode, a vampire returns after six decades to avenge his martyrdom (as he sees it) during WWII by taking Angel's friends hostage and threatening to kill them. Yes, it's about as forced as it sounds, but it does lead to the full treatment for Fred (Acker). We first see her tied to a chair at the 15-minute mark (including commercials). While the three quick shots at this point -- two long shots and one close-up -- total all of three seconds, they do show off her cute skirt, legs, hands-to-chair-arms bondage, and a surprisingly credible detective gag. Cut to the 30-minute mark. Just before the commercial, we see Fred standing on a chair: still gagged, tied hands behind (though see below) and ankles together, with a noose around her neck. Lamentably, her colleagues Wesley and Gunn are in a similar predicament on either side of her. Back from commercial, the scene continues. Finally, just to keep the every-15-minute thing going, the sequence concludes with a final scene beginning at the 45-minute mark. There's a lot more didactic dialogue than distressed damsel, and there's also one unfortunate shot from behind in which it looks very much as though Fred's wrists aren't actually tied at all. Still, we do get a few rather nice close-ups of Acker (who pouts nicely) and her gag as the action unfolds, so far be it from me to consider this sequence unworthy. ======= @10pm Space/Imagination Record number: 8815 Title: The Sentinel (1996) Medium: TV Series Actress: Lisa Akey Description: Episode: "Mirror Image" (3.14) Tied to a chair at the near the end of the episode. L'heure du lion (1999) Record number: 7123 Title: Die Stunde des Löwen (1999) aka Die Stunde des Loewen aka The Hour of The Lion Medium: TV Movie Actress: Tamara Rohloff Description: Late 90s German TV movie. Talkshow host Harald Loewe has a program, The Hour of the Lion (Stunde des Loewen) in which he denounces various people for their criminal activities. Someone snatches his wife and holds her, taunting the guy. It is evident that revenge, rather than money is the motive, presumably by one of the offended victims of the host. The woman is grabbed in a parking lot and a plastic bag pulled over her head. There are three short shots of her sitting in the van, tape-gagged, and later brief shots of her in a chair, arms tied, one on video. All the shots are brief and not particularly good. Fortunately, the lady is rescued in the end. |

Record number: 5827 Title: Blind Obsession (2001) Medium: Movie Actress: Megan Gallagher Description: Rebecca Rose (Gallagher) runs afoul of her maniacal sister, who is jealous of her and her blind boyfriend. In the final 30 minutes, Rebecca is knocked out by said sister (Roxana Zal). The scene begins with a close-up of Gallager awakening and finding herself bound to a chair. Her wrists are crossed and secured with duct tape behind her back and her feet (she is wearing black boots) are also taped together. There is much dialogue between the sisters, including a demand by Rebecca to "untie me now!". Gallagher is eventually tape gagged. There is plenty of "mmmphing" and two close-ups of her bound wrists. When the boyfriend turns up looking for her, the sister gags her with more tape to keep her silent. She scoots her chair to a radiator and there are several side views of her sawing the tape against metal to free herself. She eventually takes the tape off her feet and mouth and is briefly shown with tape still clinging to her wrists while rushing to rescue her boyfriend. Rebecca is wearing a deep V-neck shirt, black pants and the aforementioned boots. |

Alex (Wilson) is wearing a short red skirt and very flattering top. Around 5 minutes in (with or without commercials) they are taken to the kidnappers' hideout, blindfolded with black sleepmasks and their hands duct-taped in front. They are then freed and remain unbound until taken to an auto junkyard. This is about 51 minutes in with commercials. There they are again blindfolded, their hands tied behind their backs, feet tied, and a large white rope is wrapped just below each captive's shoulders. They are placed inside a van that is about to be crushed. Walker of course comes to the rescue. Lots of screaming and crying. |

Record number: 11921 Title: Bones Medium: TV Series Actress: Emily Deschanel Description: Episode: "Two Bodies in the Lab" (1.15) 36 minutes in, she is taken to an abandoned warehouse with her wrists tied behind her back. There is a fight scene that lasts about a minute before she gets pistolwhipped and knocked out. When she regains consciousness ("0:38 in), you see her tied to a chair, wrists overhead to a hook. Cleave gagged with a black cloth (onscreen). The promo still for this scene shows her ankles tied to the chair legs, but you don't see this in the video. The scene is interrupted a few times by the resucers going through the warehouse looking for them, but there is still about a minute and a half of screen time. Times without commercials. |
