Record number: 5993 Title: The Saint (1962) Medium: TV Series Actress: Shirley Eaton Description: Episode: "Invitation to Danger" (6.02) Roughly 40mins into the ep (including ads), Simon (Roger Moore) goes to Shirley's hotel room and finds her bound with hands behind back and ankles together, white cloth wrap gag over her mouth. She is being threatened by a couple of thugs, whom Simon dispatches easily. He tells Shirley that "I'll be with you in a minute" as he checks out an attache case full of money. She lays there furiously glaring at him as yet another crook comes into the room for a short conversation, and then all three thugs leave with the money. He then goes back to free Shirley and pulls the gag off but she calls him an idiot for letting this happen. He puts the gag back on and she mmmphs for awhile. When she agrees to be good, he rolls her over on her belly and unties her hands. She then unties her ankles, rubs her wrists and agrees to have a drink with him. | Title: Eagle's Wing (1979) Medium: Movie Actress: Caroline Langrishe Description: Judith (played cute blonde British actress Langrishe) is kidnapped by an Indian (Sam Waterston (!)) and led through the desert with her hands tied behind her back during a large part of the movie. A gag would have worked miracles but the noose around her neck (she's attached to his horse) still gives it a special look and the ropes are really thick! There's a nice tie-up scene when he leaves her to oppose a trapper who's following him. This British-made western stars Martin Sheen, of all people. The scenes in the movie are somewhat marred by the director's curious inattention to detail for the bondage scenes, when he's obviously careful to be accurate in other aspects of the film. For example, in shot from a distance, Langrishe, supposedly bound, brings her hands from behind her back, realizes her gaff and puts them back in place so that in the next scene her wrist can be tied on-screen. Later, Langrishe tries to escape and sprints across the desert with her wrists bound behind her back. She stops, winded, and simply brings her hands from behind her back to hold her head in her hands - and no rope bindings are ever visible. Still, the last scene makes up for the gaffs - Pike (Sheen), determined to possess the white stallion currently being ridden by White Bull, arrives in the Indian's camp and confronts the Indian, his horse and Judith, who is seated with her wrists tied behind her. Right at the end of the movie, at 1hr 32-33mins, Tobie is shown lying on the living room floor; her hands are bound behind her back (bonds never visible, nor her feet) and she is gagged with white fabric tape wrapped tightly around her head. She looks up helplessly at Evelyn, who menaces her with a pair of scissors. She then starts cutting Tobie's hair. It takes a while until we see Tobie again, in a brief sequence at 1hr 38mins. Eastwood arrives and discovers her lying on a bed. When he approaches her, still bound and gagged, she starts mmpphhing to warn him about Evelyn, who attacks him from behind and stabs him. More mmpphhing from Tobie as a vicious scuffle takes place. Frustratingly, when Eastwood later frees her, none of it is shown onscreen; instead, they simply emerge from the room at 1hr 40mins.
