Question about copying scenes to DVD (moved from The Discussion Page)
Over the last several years I have been doing the time consuming task of transferring all my old VHS scene tapes onto DVD. Recently, when I tried to transfer some stuff I recorded off of HBO, I got a message that stated it was copy protected and could not record.

I did some digging and found out that during this year, HBO started sending copy protection with all its programs. Only newer model DVD recorders pick this up. Older ones and VCRs are not affected. Apparantly, a copy can be made to a DVR, but not a DVD.

I have had no problems putting the scenes on VHS but I want to make a full conversion to DVD. I have a feeling this will only get worse as old machines die off and more networks start doing this.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? Does anybody know how to get around it? (I cant imagine I will no longer be able to record off HBO and store scenes from it).

I know that certain DVD-RAM dics that are CPRM compliant, can record and HBO copy protected file just once. It does this since you are allowed only one copy, and the burn on DVD recorder is one copy. There may be a chance (don't have HBO so I don't know) that if you tried to record onto a compliant DVD-RAM disc, you might be able to get one copy. Digital broadcasts that allow “One time only recording” can be recorded to a CPRM compatible disc.

Remember the disc must be compliant and DVD-+R/RW are not compliant as I am aware.

Here we go again with the smart ass comments from Major Johns ladies. I was commenting that the photos posted here at Brian's Page and the clip posted at Major Johns are nothing alike. A comment from another poster in Pittsburgh says there are several ties for Brianna Brown. The clip doesn't show those. If they in fact do exist. The photo posted here indicates there is more to this movie we haven't seen yet. So far only one poster has claimed to have seen this film or parts of it. No "expertise in these matters" required to post comments here.

You failed to refer to your original post:

What the hey?????
Some gagged chick pulling her bloody hands off stakes.
Yuccch.
There is obviously more to this film based on the photos and other post from the guy in Pittsburgh.
We'll have to wait until the DVD shows up someplace.
Or someone provides a better clip.

"Big" MT does not mention his original post, which is copied below:

Viewers can check BigMT for their future material - I'm current removing all general download material from our website in its entirety.

I'd hate to interrupt....
Whatever it is going on here...but anyway (please correct me if this is the wrong place to ask), does anyone know what happened to the tapedclaire yahoo group, and does anyone mind trading the pictures in the group with me over something? I only happen to have a portion of it sadly.

I do not have faith that DVD-RAM will survive. My recorder can handle it but since only specific players and recorders can I do not think it will last.

Plus, I believe the recording on the DVR counts as one. I have not tested with a RAM yet, so I will certainly give it a shot.
