From Discussion
I'm hoping the thread that started on Discussion will be continued here, since it's a hot topic and involves trading and website issues, both of which I think are on topic here.
Hopefully we can clear this up without ruffling feathers or pissing Old Hitler off.

To summarise, a poster posted a list of scenes he is trading, with a lot of material on the paysites. On the list he says he is looking to trade for content from other member sites, specifying them by names. I won't mention the sites name, because I'm talking in generalities here and don't want to single out or vilify anyone.

Some confusion about the issue, a couple of posts asked: How can you complain about someone trading your clips if you don't own them yourself? The difference is that they DO own THESE clips. Like myself, they paid the actresses/models, filmed it, edited it, hosted it on thier sites. This are original content taken from sites that have an agreement the user clicks on NOT to redistribute it before they are able to access the site.

My own opinion:
I have no problem with the occasional trade of clips from my token site. I've done it on occasion, and there isn't a single one of us who hasn't.

If theres a scene you are dying to have, and you have a clip of mine that might help get you it, go for it. I am talking about unique scenarios here, where details are worked out privately.

I do disagree with posting an open ad specifically asking the general public to send content from certain sites. I think thats a totally different situation.

The point is he isn't going to make any friends in the community doing that on the very forum that those producers visit regularly.

I am sure he never meant to step on anyone's toes or means any offense by it. I think it's great that he's taken up the initiative to create his own site and would like to encourage him not to fold the tent over geocities issues.
Stick to it, and others will help you through the rough spots.
