| Spoilers for the movie say the character played by Emilia Jones is taken hostage by the main hero. Not seeing any mention of it here so I take it that there was no restraint involved, much less an improvement on the original's scene with Maria Alonso? |

You'd have to watch Locke and Key for any Emilia Jones scenes. |
