| I'm convinced I am the only person in the world who knows this scene exists. It's a BBC 6-part mini series, from 25 years ago, and features Kelly Reilly, in one of her earliest roles, tied and cleave gagged. I've mentioned it in discussions throughout the years, but no one else seems to bat an eyelid. Well after looking for ages, someone has finally posted the entire series online, so I was able to finally make an edit. Link is on the video page. |

| where the damsels are shackled/handcuffed or otherwise put in situations where chains and padlocks are involved and put into some sort of death trap peril which they manage to free herself from her restraints. The three I can think of are an unnamed virgin sacrifice at the opening of Dragon Slayer where she's able to free herself from her shackles before the dragon gets to her (the dragon still catches up and burns her to death though), Red from Hoodwinked, where while she's tied with rope she's locked inside a cable car filled with dynamite that's ironed and padlocked shut and she both frees herself from the ropes and finds a way out of the car, and Memories of Midnight where Catherine has her handcuffs secured to extra rope around the back of a chair and has her legs cuffed while placed in front of an overheating boiler. At least that's what the database says. I'm not sure if they're cuffs since she instantly gets her legs out simply by pulling at them after her hands are free. |

Two more I can think of are Malevolence where the mother has her hands chained above to a pipe as the killer advanced towards her and she's able to pull hard enough the break the pipe loose and smash it on the killer's head. Sense8 has the korean girl fight 3 assassins posing as police who have handcuffed her hands behind her back and put her in a noose and eventually winning. |
