Thursday November 30 01:27:05 2006 [4111] I Cover the Waterfront (1933) |
A detail possibly missing:
I caught this scene by complete accident just now but a few seconds after it must have begun. Ben Lyon (back to camera) appeared to be pulling a black cloth gag down from Miss Colbert's mouth. It is a black silk neck scarf. At the end of the kissing tease Lyon takes the end of the scarf in his hands. Scene ends there with a commercial break. So: was the lovely Claudette Colbert gagged as well? |

She also has a later scene where she's tied to a chair (hands behind/rope around her body) and blindfolded. |

Jeez. Lee, like everyone else, I appreciate you posting a thorough description of this entry. I'm not sure all the writing is yours, so I won't make that assumption. But whoever is writing this needs an editor. Badly. So, I'm volunteering. Jay, I offer the following copy-edited version: Bizarrely, the main character's school is overflowing with some weird grunge. She gets into an argument with a boy she doesn't like. He just simply clicks his fingers, says "Tie her up," and his friends immediately tie her feet and hands in front with rope while she stands still. They cover her mouth with a handkerchief and pick her up while she "Mmmppphhh"s impressively. She is chucked into a bin and left there while the entire school is being evacuated. Hope this is helpful. |
