Superman (1948)
I tried to combine database entries 12297, 12308, 12309, 12316 and 12317 which dealt with individual episodes for the movie serial “Superman” (1948) into one lengthy entry. Unfortunately, I was successful only in deleted the latter four entries - the merged entry describing all the scenes didn’t take, possibly the amount of text exceeded database limitations.

Fortunately, I saved the text of the individual database entries before I embarked on this adventure. Would it be your preference for me to recreate the individual entries or should I edit the scenes so that it will fit in one database entry?

Superman serial entries
David, hang on to that text for now. It may come in handy shortly.

The multiple entries were my doing. Sorry if I violated some protocol by doing it that way, but the current Instructions page isn't clear about that. Anyway, this was the first time I ever entered any scenes from a movie serial, so...

It's your call, Boss. If you'd prefer a single merged entry with everything, let me know and I'll drag out my tapes and whip something up (I have edit access). By the way, if there IS a text limit, it'd be helpful to let me know what it is, since it's apparent that I'll have to do some creative editing to get all the action in. If, on the other hand, the way I did it is OK, I guess it'd be all right to just let our friend David re-enter the originals.

Thanks, David, for taking the initiative to fix this, but if it's really broken I broke it and it's my job to clean up the mess.

Re-write this entry how you want it and be very specific about any dead scenes, or unshown scenes

Ok. Give me a little time to find and rewatch my tape to get better descriptions.

Actress Abby Royle, Kristina Valada-Viars, Kathryn Erbe

Royle is handgagged just be for opening title. Over first commercial, we find Royle her dead with her mouth gagged and bloody. A blanket was lying from her waist down. When her boyfriend is interviewed, they show him a picture of her with tape over eyes, mouth and around her waist. All in the first 15 min.

Valada-Viars is found dead lying against the foot of a treet. She has her hands bound with tape in front of her and tape gagged. She is dead and bloody also. 15 to 20 min mark.

Erbes is hit on the side of the face with a metal object after noticing her bird is dead. Roughly 28-30 min mark. After commercial, we find her bound with her hands over her head to a hook as a fourth victim is being tortured. We only see this victim dead and unbound in the trunk of Erbes car.

Erbes is tape gagged with cloth in her mouth and blindfolded with a scarf. You notice the stuffing as some picks out when you get a closeup of her face. She is briefly ungagged as her partner tries to call. After next commercial, she manages to slide the blindfold down with her arm to see that she is alone. She manages to unscrew the hook that holds her arms over her head. We get a closeup of her hands as she does this. Her hands are bound together with tape along with a leather strap. Her feet are never bound. She uses her mouth to remove the strap binding her hands, leaving her hands bound with tape. We never are showed how she removes the tape. She manages to call for help and is found in the hospital. Her scenes end at about the 45 min. mark.
