Unless there is another "Brotherhood of Blades 2: The Infernal Battlefield" out there which is going to cause confusion, we don't need it. |

Very often I search for movie scenes with a specific year in the hopes of finding something new. Sometimes in a 90s mood, or a 2010s mood; having the years present helps A LOT. |

If you want to enter the dates when you run across them, I'm not going to go in after you and remove them, but I'm also not going to go in and retrofit 15,000 entries that don't have them. The database's function is to identify scenes, and describe the source with enough detail to be able to track them down. The date is not necessary for that in this case. |

Granted, retrofitting every date-less entry is not my list of tasks either. What I meant to emphasize was that if I see a movie without a year, I always add it for completeness (no different to our tags system). Discouraging others from doing so if they feel up to the task seems counterproductive, and I'll keep repeating this: having years in the title field has been very helpful to me in tracking down certain scenes. I have no doubt that goes for other users too, so all I can say to them is "go for it". ........Just don't ask US to add them. See? Compromise. ;-) |

I don't have a problem with adding information when I'm touching up an entry. I already add dates, tags, additional details, fix grammar, make entries more readable, etc. etc etc. when I'm editing things. What I don't want is a list of trivial touch-ups to entries, including unneeded dates when I look at the page in the morning. If you want to pick them up and make the changes that's fine with me, but I'm going to pass on them and stick to the real corrections. |
