| There is so much more to this film than the original entry suggested, and fans of energetic struggling should make a particular effort to find it. I offer this update: Description: 4': Stella (Jella Haase) is grabbed in a quiet side-street by two masked men. She is hooded, and carried, struggling and screaming, into their padded van, where she is hands-behind cuffed and ankle-cuffed to metal loops which they had installed. She continues to struggle and scream as the doors are closed, and the men drive off. She is wearing a leopard-print coat, black jeans, and flat-heeled boots. Cut to . a derelict block of flats. Still hooded, struggling and screaming (although her noises are not as strong as they might be), she is carried into a grimy flat, where the men have prepared a sound-deadened room with a bed firmly fixed to the floor. Her wrists are handcuffed above her head to the bed, and her ankles are attached by rope to the foot of it. The men remove her footwear (she was wearing ankle socks in her boots), cut off her jeans, and tear open and pull off the tee-shirt she was wearing under her coat. They leave her underwear, including sheer bra, in place. Feet people are rewarded here, as they are for most of Stella's scenes. She screams and struggles continuously in this process, and more so when the clothes come off. 7': The hood - it's a bag with a draw-rope closure - comes off, and we see why her screams have been muffled; she has a fine, well-padded, black, leather bit gag in place. (She has been doing well to make so much noise through it!) The men, wearing green, plastic, expressionless masks and navy-blue beanie hats, take the obligatory photograph with a newspaper for the ransom demand, and then she is re-hooded, and the drawstring is tightened sufficiently to hold it in place; she will not be choked by it. They then dress her in a red tracksuit, which will be easier to adjust than her original clothes, they switch off the lights and leave her. Helpfully, one overhead light remains, and we see her struggling and screaming in vain. The men return almost at once, and demand the E-Mail address and mobile 'phone number of her father, after which she is re-gagged and re-hooded. After a check-in at 11', the men return at 12' to give her fluids. The usual "I'm going to remove the gag. Do you promise not to scream?" line comes here - and of course she screams, which causes the senior man to gag her with his hand. She is quieter the second time around. Having taken a drink, she is re-gagged. She also needs to release fluid, and the track suit makes it easy. 21': The junior man has looked at the photos they took earlier, and now he goes in to check on her, unhooding her. She indicates that she needs to pass solids. He releases all limbs except one wrist, and offers her a bucket for the purpose. He points a gun to dissuade her from getting ideas. She removes the gag and asks that he turns away at least, to give her some privacy. He does so, and she whacks him with the bucket, knocking the gun from his hand, and then kicks him strongly. She grabs the gun, and demands the keys. In offering them to her, he lunges and the gun goes off, next to his head. As he cowers, she rips off his hat and mask ... she knows him! In the conversation which follows, he lunges and pushes her onto the bed, where he wrests the gun from her, re-attaches her to the bed, and hoods her. 28': The men return with a video camera and tripod. Stella's father has refused to pay the ransom, and so the men will implement Plan B: they will cut off a finger and store it in a cold bag so that it may be sewn on again in a day or so. She is ungagged so that she may make a desperate plea on camera for him to pay. Just as Senior is about to make the chop, Junior intervenes, and so she remains intact. We don't see her being re-hooded and being released from the zip-tie. Senior begins to edit the recording, and so we see some of her pleading again. 33': The men return again, this time with soup and drink for her. Her feet are released so that she may sit up on the bed. 47': She is in some distress, coughing. Senior is away, and so Junior comes in. He releases her wrists, just in time. (Somehow, her ankles become free too.) She rolls to the left and vomits onto the floor. Recovering, she seduces him enough that she can slip a cuff over his wrist and snap it closed. She is free! (Well, to a degree. The flat is still fully secure.) Having found a mobile 'phone and called the Police, she sees the keys, which are just out of reach of Junior's outstretched foot. He is heaving on the cuffs, and just as she reaches for the keys, he yanks himself, cuffed, from the bed-frame, and delivers a knockout kick to her head. He hauls her back onto the bed, fixes the frame and re-attaches her. 56': Progress with the ransom demand. Senior starts to release Stella for the next part of the plan - but then he finds the mobile 'phone she had used, and then the bullet from earlier, lodged in the soundproofing. Demanding the truth, he approaches her with a knife. With the blade at her throat, she reveals that Junior is a former boyfriend. He pulls away, and we see a line of blood. 64': The men prepare a docile, hooded Stella for an injection. It goes in with only a small complaint and some rattling of the cuffs. Sedated, and now with her socks on, she is carried to, and secured in, the back of the van. They arrive at a lake in the woods, where she is carried to a boathouse. There, still-unconscious, she is cuffed hands behind, and around a metal pole. A large bicycle lock holds her neck to the same pole. The hood comes off, and we see the gag, in place. The men drive off, towards the drop point for the money. 75': Stella comes to, realises her new predicament, and starts screaming though her gag, struggling bravely. 77': The men have fallen out, and Junior has been shot, though not fatally. Senior returns to the boathouse to bring Stella's life to an end by fatal injection. It invokes more struggling and screaming resistance from Stella. Just as the needle is about to go in, Junior arrives, and whacks Senior. Senior shoots Junior again, but again not immediately-fatally. As he advances on Junior to finish him, Stella trips him, which sends the gun flying. Junior has enough energy to grab it, and shoot Senior dead. Desperate, struggling, whimpering and pleading through her gag, Stella tries to rouse Junior, and then encourage him, to get the keys which will release her. He barely makes it, half throwing the keys towards her. One of her feet can just reach them, and a few moments later, she has escaped her restraints and is ungagged. Junior sees she is free, and expires. The entry should start: Description: A German-language remake of 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' (2009), in which a young woman is kidnapped for ransom. Jella Haase gives a tremendous performance as Stella. 4': Stella (Jella Haase) is grabbed [...] |
